Champs Sports Bowl Preview, HAIL PURDUE

Well, it's the last Purdue football preview for this season how sad. Since I am going to be busy with Christmas and my flight for Orlando for the game leaves the 26th I thought I better do this now. Since I decided to invite back all guest pickers and add 1 new picker Fearless, I elected to just get into picking the games. We will be picking 1 pro games and some of the college bowl games, enjoy! I admit I don't follow or know as much about pro football, although I enjoyed the Saints beating Gary's Cowgirls! I will say this it's been a tough luck season for the Eagles, I think they will pull a close one out over the dirty birds.

Texas Tech vs Minnesota- This is an interesting match up. If this game were played in mid season this would be a no brainer and I would easily pick the red raiders, but Minnesota played some really good football down the stretch just to get them bowl eligible. In the end got to stick with the Big Ten Sota in a nailbiter

JEF- Both teams are asking "who" Lots of old folks from MN now live in AZ. Tempe is a good town been there a few times myself. I especially like the Coco's Senior early bird special. Alabama vs Oklahoma State- Hmm this is one of those games that could either be really exciting or really boring with two 6-6 teams. I think it will be boring for one reason only, Bama will ROLL! I think the Tide has gotten some bad press lately and they are ready to pound the cowpokes. Roll Tide

Cheryl- With the way we've been burned so far looking for a coach we need something to lift our Christmas spirits. Something that would really help is a big win in Shreveport(OMG if you lose in Shreveport you really feel bad) Rumor around town is that the Bama team is feeling a lot of confidence in the play calling from the OC and in our acting coach's positive mentality. And to tell the truth I watched very little of OSU this year and don't know what to expect. So, I am praying for some good SEC defense and some gutsy offensive play calling, more then we had during the regular season, will combine to give Bama a good win

GARY- With the way the Tide played this season, some would be expecting the Cowboys to brand the packaderms in late Dec. BUT this will be a completely different team running out onto the field. I think we'll be seeing a new offense and a renewed confidence from this team and the plays being called. Hope Cowboys can swim because the tide is rolling in

Texas vs Iowa- Wasn't that long ago both these teams thought they'd be playing Jan 1st, then Iowa completely fell apart, and Texas had a bad late season loss. Now they are both just trying to build for next season. Iowa is a sinking ship and won't have a prayer in this one. Hook em Horns

Louisville vs Wake Forest- The cards at one time were in the running for the national title game, and that was a joke. Wake in a BCS game you've got to be kidding me. Boise State vs Oklahoma- The Cinderella story Boise State Broncos have had a great year, but it won't end with a win over the sooners. Even if Peterson doesn't return Boomer Sooner has more then enough weapons to tame these broncos

Michigan vs Southern Cal- Fearless was this hard for you to pick, your two teams squaring off? UM is still smarting from getting jobbed by quite possibly the biggest whiner in college football Urban Myer. Lloyd Carr had too much class to beg to play in the title game, and therefore they go to the rose. USC is smarting after losing their title shot to their arch rival UCLA. UM has too many weapons and will slowly pull away from the trojans.

CHERYL- Noone is giving Florida even a slim chance to win this game against the seemingly unbeatable buckeyes. But that is 1 good reason that i think they do have a good chance. #2 traditionally have a lotta luck against #1's in title games. and I am betting on Florida's defense(they have the 6th best rushing defense in the country) giving OSU and their Heisman trophy winner some trouble. Going to be a good one and may come down to the wire. I am going against the grain and pull what I am calling a 92(In honor of Bama's victory in 92 sugar bowl when nobody gave them a chance in hell of beating #1 and seemingly invincible Miami) I don't even like the gators but sure like them when playing the big ten(hey!) Purdue vs Maryland- Well, we're back in the post season after a 1 year absence and we get a pretty good bowl game. We are you young so the just getting the extra practices is good for this team. Maryland is a decent team, but I like how we match up. They aren't exactly lighting it up on either side of the ball and that will play to Purdue's favor. Curtis Painter our QB plays better away from Ross Ade and I see him going for big time numbers in this game and leading the gold and black to a bowl victory. The star of the game will be WR Dorien Bryant who will have a huge game for the Boilers. BOILER UP!
