Pre tournament jitters

Hello all
Well, I am playing in my first tournament of the summer this weekend. I am kind of nervous, not really so much for the tournament but for my foot. I entered originally in the mixed doubles, and mens doubles, but after playing last night and feeling the pain in my foot I chose to pull out of the Mens Doubles. Mostly because that will just be more matches, and my partner and I are seeded in the Mixed doubles. We don't play until Saturday at 12:15 so wish us luck! We played last night, and I needed it, my serve is ALWAYS rusty after long lay offs. Hopefully we'll do OK, and hopefully I won't get gangrene. I have been doing my exercises and icing still, and hopefully it will help.
UPDATE we won our first two matches. We won our first round 6-0, 6-1, and our quarterfinal match 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Tomorrow we play at 3:30 vs the #2 seeds, wish us luck. I am off to ice my foot

Well the rain is finally stopping here phew it's kind of hard to teach tennis when it's rained. My adult class has been rained out 3 straight days this week, and the kids have been cancelled 2 of the last three. Which means Phats has to work on Friday BOO. I love the heat though, it's been in the 90's, and I always feel like I have worked harder when I sweat. Hopefully no more rain for the rest of the summer tennis sessions.

Anyone watching Wimbledon? This has long been my favorite grand slam, they play on grass how cool. My picks for the winners, I am really going out a limb here and saying Federer over Djokovic in 3 sets. My most hated player Roddick unfortunately does well on this surface but will lose in 3 in the semi's to the Federer Express. On the womens side I am going with Serena over Venus. Yep another sisters duel. I could be way off, but Richard Williams the dad picked Venus to win, and how can you argue with the man, I don't think she'll win but wouldn't be shocked to see her in the finals. Darkhorse is Jankovic.

What's everyone doing for the 4th of July? I am actually hanging out with my family. We are all going to be at my mom's house and use the pool, cook out, and just relax. Then when it gets dark we will light the fireworks my nephews picked out, and finally watch the town fireworks. We can see them from the backyard of the house, which is nice. We don't have to battle traffic or find a place to sit and watch. You can come if you guys want, just bring your swimsuits and tell us what meat you want for your dinner?
