Hell Ya, It's Boilermaker football season

Welcome back Purdue football, oh how I have missed you, and wonder what great entertainment you'll bring me this week. I prepared for the game by watching Big Ten Network's greatest games us beating #4 Kansas State in the Alamo Bowl when Brees threw a TD with 30 secs to go to win 37-34 and I saw myself on TV on the sidelines. This could be an interesting season for a couple reasons. 1. Nobody is really sure what we will be like, we have one of the best passing quarterbacks in the country, but most of our marquee receivers graduated. 2. This is Coach Tiller's last year which makes me sad. He turned this program around instantly, his first season he took a team that was 3-8 the previous year and led us to an Alamo Bowl victory over Oklahoma State. He has guided us to a bowl game every year but one and I for one will miss the man. Alright onto the preview, by the way those of you who don't like sports, you will hopefully still comment, but you can also scroll down to my previous post.

So, tomorrow the Mighty Boilermakers play host to the Northern Colorado Bears. Purdue has had a hell of a time scheduling teams since they went to 12 game schedules, and Northern Colorado was chosen probably because their head coach used to be a Tiller assistant. I am not going to lie I know nothing about the Bears, but I hope I we treat them the same way we treated Eastern Illinois last year in our opener, and I hope our offense rolls. If it doesn't this will be a long season. I am very excited because the first three games are all home, so I will be traveling to West Lafayette quite a bit here the next couple weeks. The game is at Noon on the Big Ten Network, look for me if you get it!

Guest picking for week one is Tena, I suck at doing links in posts so she is under Tena in the links, I am real original I know. I think she was surprised when I asked her, but I really dig Tena, and her and her hubby are going to let me retire and they going to be my sugar parents! She "claims" to not know much about sports, but she didn't do too bad. Northwestern Wildcats at Duke Blue Devils(David)
Tena- Northwestern, even though it was a total loser team back when I went there. Abe Lincoln was Precinct Captain then. NORTHWESTERN

Phats- So, who heard about the parachuting incident at Duke last week? The game ball was dropped out of the sky by these guys the only probably they weren't suppose to be at Duke, they were suppose to be at UNC! haha This game is meaningless, going with the Cats in a close one

Phats- I don't see this as being a slam dunk for Texas, but they will win it. Side note I love UTEP's stadium.

Phats- Mr Shife, 70 points last week really?? I don't think either of these teams will be playing anywhere near New Year's expect on a basketball court. I dig Mr Shife he's a cool cat, Vandals steal one

Phats- Is Nebraska back? Semi Back? Who knows what know much from this game either, but the huskers shouldn't have a problem in this one.

Texas Tech Red Raiders(Jef and Fuzz) at Nevada Wolfpack
Tena- Raiders. I got married once in Las Vegas. Bad decision TEXAS TECH

Phats- I hate to break this to Jef and Fuzz but Tech is HIGHLY overrated. This could be a tricky game, but I still like Tech to pull it out, but don't see them anywhere near the top of the big 12 this year

Phats- Bad timing for WVU, I am sure this game didn't look as tough two weeks ago, but ECU just upset Va Tech. This will be a good game, and close, but I like the eers to take it

The Citadel Bulldogs at Clemson Tigers(Topolk)
Tena- The Citadel is an awesome place. Go Bulldogs THE CITADEL

Phats- Hmm I still claim the ACC is the absolute weakest BCS conference and this past weeks results proved that. However, Clemson would have to play it's 5th string to lose this one, and I am guessing they are going to be pissed off after the Bama game

Tena- Nittany? What the hell kind of name is that?? Out of pity, I choose Penn State. PENN STATE

Phats- This could be a good game, the bigger question might be will PSU have enough players out of jail to play this one? JoePa had the boys looking good last week, go Nitts

Phats- Opening game, get the jitters out with Northern, Boilers roll behind Mr. Painter, and get Joe Tiller within one game of becoming the all time winningest coach in Purdue history
