I have seen it all

Well, the Boilers took one on the chin yesterday in Happy Valley, losing to Penn State 26-19. It was a boring close game if that makes sense. We seemed to control the game until we got inside the red zone and then had to settle for field goals. We did compete at least, and got off to a great start with a 98 yard kick off return for a touchdown. What puzzles me is, and for the record you can ask anyone that knows me, I don't blame the refs usually, but they were HORRIBLE yesterday. We had 4 personal fouls called on us, 2 I will give them, 2 were just plain bad. It led to Coach Tiller holding his nose and telling them they stink! HA! Then with score 19-16 PSU they had a third down, according to the yellow first down line, and our radio guys they didn't get it, the refs gave them a first down WITHOUT a measurement. Quite possibly though the most stunning of all calls came late in the game down 10 we were driving, and our player goes out of bounds, standing right beside Coach Tiller, the ref ran the clock?! Has anyone ever seen this happen??? Travis?? The weird part was they put the camera on him and he had a smile on his face like he knew his mistake. So, we took a timeout to stop the clock, losing one of our 3 and hindering us to stop the clock on our hail mary. Could we have won this game had the calls gone the other way who knows, I mean we did fumble the ball on the 1 yard line, and dropped a TD catch late in the 3rd, so we didn't help ourselves, but the refs should NEVER be the topic of the game when it concludes. So, we stand 7-3 going into our last two games, Michigan State at home, and At IU.

Some Observations
The best game of the day was seen in person by Cheryl and Gary. What a game that was I found myself chanting Defense Defense for Bama when LSU got that fumble. It's funny how I am really rooting for all your teams I pick now. Tough loss, but wow what a game, and you could tell an incredible atmosphere at Bama. Cheryl were you under the bleachers? By the way they showed a couple making out after the TD that put Bama ahead, the woman was blonde was that you two?

Congrats to Navy beating Notre Dame in triple OT! I found myself going crazy during this game as well. Ending their 43 game losing streak to the fighting irish, congrats Midshipmen!!

My Upset Special of OK State over Texas almost happened, but not quite.

Basketball season has officially started, Purdue defeated the University of Indianapolis in their first exhibition game 89-61. Of those 89 points our freshmen scored 72 of them! I think they are living up to their billing. Cheryl and Gary you better hope Purdue doesn't play Bama in the Las Vegas classic ;)
