Time to kick the living crap out of the leprechauns!!!

Welcome to week one boys and girls, that's right college football is back(thank god) and as usual I will be picking all the games of your favorite schools. Actually some pretty good match ups in week one. My boilers travel to South Bend to take on the evil empire that is Notre Dame, long gone is fat charlie, they have a new coach now but he's trying to force NBC to bow down to him with its commercial breaks. It's no secret I HATE HATE HATE Notre Dame with a MAJOR passion. Their fan base is ARROGANT, most have no clue where South Bend is, and the rest forget all about Notre Dame once football season ends and that just bugs me. I am not sure how we're going to be I am quietly optimistic that we're going to have a good season. We suffered a HUGE blow in spring when our #1 running back tore his ACL, but we have always been a pass first, pass second, run as an afterthought team. We have a new quarterback former Miami Hurricane Robert Marve, and he's fitting in very well and getting rave reviews. He could actually be our leading rusher when it's all said and done. I am thinking we could go anywhere from 5-7 to 8-4, if I had to guess i'd say 7-5. Our schedule is pretty favorable early, even getting ND to open that might be the best time to play them, I guess we'll see. I am ready for another great season, are you :) If I leave anyone's team out feel free to cuss me out in comments and tell me to add them.

Guest picking this week is the famous Mr Duck. His team the Boise State Broncos made big news in the offseason by leaving the WAC for greener and tougher pastures in the Mountain West. They have been one of the most consistent programs in the country the last few years, and this year start in the top 5 of the rankings. A huge game for them to start taking on Virginia Tech, a loss and they can all but say goodbye to any thoughts of playing in the title game. onto the games!

Murray State Racers at Kent State Golden Flashes(Design Goddess)
Phats- Wow this would be a decent midmajor basketball game. Unfortunately for the Racers this one is played on a football field, and the Golden Flashes will send them racing home.

Phats- Bama starts the year wtih TONS of pressure defending National Champ, defending Heisman winner who happens to be hurt, and pre-season #1, don't worry Bama will live up to it in this one another one I see being over at half. ROLL TIDE!

Phats- Not much talk about Texas in the preseason at least from the talking heads as most of them are talking about Nebraska and Oklahoma. Texas came close to spoiling Alabama's title run last year and will get off to a great start rolling over Rice

Louisiana State Tigers vs North Carolina Tar Heels
Phats- Normally the big game would go to the Boise but since we were already picking that I went with this. I have heard alot about UNC in the offseason and I am going to be honest I don't believe the hype, for starters the ACC sucked last year. LSU is a traditional power and will show the Heels they have quite a way to go with a blowout win

Boise State Broncos(Duck) vs Virginia Tech Hokies
Phats- Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is being played in Maryland, so that is like a road a game for Boise. Sometimes I find I am rooting for BSU because they are the little guy who just wants respect, and sometimes I have a hard time when they bitch and moan nobody will play them, yet they say they are too good to play their rival Idaho. That being said this team is talented, and could quite possibly go undefeated and still not get a BCS Title game invite. This one is tough the Hokies are always good, and it will be the best opening game week and come down to who has the ball last.

Phats- I am really nervous about this one, mostly because I am not sure what to expect from us. I honestly like our chances and I think playing them right off the bat works to our advantage. Our offense will be fine, our secondary might decide this one, I think they stand up to the pressure and the Boilers pull off a rare win in South Bend baby. BOILER UP!
