Curses
Well, it's official I believe my Purdue Boilermaker Mens Basketball team is cursed. I am sure of it, lets examine some of the evidence. A couple years ago Purdue was off to a great start, including a win over national powerhouse Duke in the Great Alaskan Shooutout. Everyone had Purdue in the field of 64 come March, uhh not so fast my friend. After a few shockers we were still doing good but then the curse started our best player Kenny Lowe goes down hurt can't really play much the rest of the season, and it was hello NIT, goodbye NCAA, and so the curse began. Last year was just plain miserable, first off we had Gene Keady in his last season coaching, he is a true legend no matter what anyone says. Second the team flat out sucked I don't know why. It was so sad to see Keady go out with a 7-20 team, and to make matters worse mister curse happened again the last game of the regular season. We had started to play better and our best player Carl Landry tears his ACL. Fast forward to summer all people around Purdue can talk about is the best recruiting class in the big ten and how things are going to change, and months before school starts our projected starting point guard gets drunk, and about kills a person, gets community service(bull if you ask me should have been a worse punishment) and suspended all year by Coach Painter. 1 starter down. Then all over the Purdue message boards the rumor was going around the another starter David Teague had torn his acl, well it was true 2 starters down. After 3 games Carl Landry realizes his ACL hasn't healed properly and takes a medical redshirt 3 starters down. First game of the big ten season freshman starter Nate Minnoy tears his ACL 4 starters down!! Finally problem child since day one and one of two point guards Kory Spates is kicked off the team down to 8 scholarship players and currently at 7-11. Like I said we are cursed DAMN IT! I am going to start sacrificing chickens or something to reverse this trend. This is sad we are so use to winning in Boilermaker country, we are the team that won three straight big ten titles 94-96 called it the "three pete" Ho Hum, I am sure we have about 12 more losses to come this year.
Lets see, what else oh yes Saturday was the 20 year anniversary of the challenger explosion, what a tragedy. I actually was watching a special on it on National Geographic tonight, such a sad thing that happened. For those of you who don't remember that was the spacecraft with the teacher in space program, the teacher being Christa McCaulliff. Lots of fingerpointing came out of this, and nothing really happened as a result of it. Supposedly the people who manufactured the shuttle had an inkling something might happen, but NASA didn't see enough proof to stop the mission. I actually remember this happening, we had a teacher in our elementary that had made like the final 130 cut to be the teacher. Sad times for those family members, keep them in your thoughts.
I hung out with the nut tonight, we went to wallyworld, and Hacienda mmm Hacienda. I also received my Canada made smarties from Cher, THANKS CHER you rock big comet! Haven't tried them yet, but soon I promise. The HS sectional draw comes out tomorrow kind of exciting hopefully the Lady Kats will make it to Conseco this year, so close last year. It would be nice to get the bye game on Friday.
That's all I got, in tribute of her great return to tennis, I give you the Swiss Miss. Lost in the Quarters to Clijsters in womens singles and WON the mixed doubles title at the Australian Open, way to go Martina Hingis, it's great to have you back.

She is so cute!
