Lets go to the movies

The final installment of you write my blog as this one is for Thomas. I am still going to do Emily's idea, but hers is something it sounds like I can do over and over which is sweet! So, Thomas was the first to comment, but I saved his for last because I liked his idea best. He suggested I list my 10 favorite movies and why I like them so much, and at first I thought that is going to be hard but not for why you're thinking. See, I am not a movie person really, and I thought I am not sure I can list 10? The last movie I saw at the theaters, not counting taking my nephews to see the Chipmunks over Christmas, was Untraceable. Then I sat down to write this and it was hard because I kept coming up with more than 10! So here, goes nothing after the first one which is my ALL TIME FAVORITE movie these are in no particular order. By the way if you've never seen this first movie and want to be surprised don't watch the clip.



Hoosiers- This is my all time favorite movie, and in my opinion the best damn sports movie ever made. Kind of funny that a Boilermaker would love a movie named Hoosiers but it has nothing to do with that university. If you haven't seen this movie first off why not, second it's a true story about a small high school in Indiana and their quest to win the IHSAA state basketball championship. Every time I watch this movie different parts give me goosebumps, and the end almost brings me to tears, yes tears! There's a simple explanation as to why I love this movie so much i've lived it like all other Indiana kids. If you don't know the state of Indiana is absolutely crazy about high school basketball, we have gyms in this state as big or bigger than some small colleges. Kokomo's gym seats 6000 and that is one of the smaller ones around. Anyway, why this movie means so much is I have experienced Hoosier Hysteria first hand I grew up looking forward to the day the HS state tournament came around and the gyms became magical. This is not only a great movie, but it's true how can you beat that! You definitely need to check it out if you have never seen it.

Christmas Vacation- I freaking love this movie and the sad part is it doesn't even have to be Christmas for me to watch it. Infact in college my roommate and I watched this movie so much we could literally quote it from beginning to end. There are so many parts to this movie that literally make me laugh out loud and the exciting thing my nephews are old enough to enjoy a holiday classic as well. Clark shopping talking to the sales girl hello that part gets me laughing everytime.

Halloween- First off I love scary movies, LOVE THEM! To me this is one of the all time greats, and I want to make it very clear I am talking about the very first one the original with Jamie Lee Curtis. I have seen everyone and some of the others are good too, but nothing beats the original. The music when Michael Myers is on the attack is creepy enough to literally make the hairs on your arm stand up even if you don't have any! Definitely a Halloween staple, and I love that pretty much every Halloween AMC shows a long marathon of this franchise.

The Goonies- One of my all time favorites and one of those movies that I just have to sit and watch whenever it's on TV. Makes me pissed I didn't get to live in a neighborhood like that and be Goonie, and have a friend like Data that is a whiz with booby traps. One of my favorite parts still is Mouth making Chunk do the truffle shuffle.

The Birds- I stated already I love scary movies and man this one when I first saw it gave me nightmares. If you haven't seen this movie you're missing out this is one of the best. I think part of what's so scary about this is who knows if this could actually happen or not, I mean I am pretty sure birds wouldn't start working together like that but who the hells knows. What makes it so genius is most movies end with some resolution this movie not so much. That last scene is so eerie and scary it almost makes the movie.

Silence of the Lambs- I read the book first and I thought there is noway the movie will live up to how great the book was. I was definitely pleasantly surprised that's for sure. Jodi Foster and Anthony Hopkins make this movie, and it's part of the reason I wasn't a big fan of Hannble since Jodi Foster didn't resign up. So many memorable lines and scenes from that movie absolutely loved it.

Misery- Another one where I read the book first, and another where the movie lived up to the book BIG TIME. Mostly because Kathy Bates was absolutely terrifying in the role of Annie. When she goes to chop off his foot, I still to this day after seeing the movie multiple times flinch. I love Stephen King books, and many of his have been turned into moveis this has to be one of the best.

Dodgeball- I like this movie because it makes me laugh. Again another movie that I can actually quote, with my favorite being "Cram it up your cramhole LaFleur!" Like The Goonies I can't resist sitting down and watching it when it comes on.

Footloose- I LOVE this movie give me shit if you want but this was a GREAT movie. I am not talking about the crappy remake with an awful version(Blake Shelton!) of the marquee song I mean the original. I can't even imagine anyone that can watch the final scene of the movie and not at least start tapping their foot! Of course what town actually bans music and dancing?!

Air Force One- I actually saw this for the first time at the movies on a date with a girl from high school and it turned out to be a great first date because the movie was excellent, and we ended up dating that whole summer. Being a history person this was a cool movie, plus it had action, drama, suspense, everything you want in a good movie. Harrison Ford was an excellent choice as the President and again the ending is great.

There you have it my 10 all time favorite movies, and just because it was so hard a few honorable mention would be
