Potpourri

Ahh Well, the holidays are officially over even though the town I live in has decided to leave the decorations up. Not sure what they are waiting for it's a perfect time to take em down we have had mild temps here lately. Anyway a quick recap of my holiday season

Christmas was great easily my favorite holiday. Had a good time at my sister's we always stay there because she has three little ones. It's pretty cool because even though they are getting older the twins are 3rd grade they still believe in Santa so it's neat to see them and their excitement on Christmas Eve. I got them an XBox Kinnect man that thing is cool!! Santa was pretty good to Phats, got a lot of books, clothes, DVD's, tennis balls etc etc how about you all have a good Christmas, favorite gift?

New Year's Eve, let me put it this way I hate, HATE New Year's Eve. Some pretty crappy stuff has happened in my life on that day so I am not a fan, and this year trying to avoid it I made a BIG mistake. I decided a little after 10pm to take a sleeping pill to just completely knock me out. First off some stuff is going on in my life(all good!) but it has been stressful to say the least and I haven't been sleeping, so I knew to sleep thru that AWFUL holiday I knew I needed assistance. So, I called my doctor and he said it would be fine blah blah so I was like sweet. At about 10 pm I popped it in and wow did it work unfortunately too good. I woke up around 2 the next day and just didn't feel right all day. I was light headed, weak, and still tired basically like I took an actifed. While I slept thru New Year's Eve I felt like shit the whole next day. Anybody do anything fun for New Year's Eve?

So far winter here has been mild and I can dig that, I actually played tennis outside Saturday which is a first for January. I am sure we'll get hit at some point in time but for now I am enjoying this always feel the longer we put it off the closer we get to spring.

My nephew is going to start gymnastics here soon he is giving up baseball at least for now to try something new. That's exciting for him and sure does take me back although I was younger when I started. For those that don't know I was pretty close to being an elite level gymnast. When I was in the first grade my sister wanted to take gymnastics to help with cheer tryouts and my parents let me tag along and take the same class. We both started in the beginner class and when that first day ended I was promoted to an advance class she stayed in the beginner. This might not seem like much but when you're the younger sibling it's pretty damn cool. The owner/head instructor of the gym kept begging my parents to put me on the team and start more classes and they only gave in when my mom walked thru our living room right as I got the bright idea to do a standing back tuck over our couch. After that incident I was in classes 3 days a week. I would love to go to the gym soemtime with my nephew I can still do most of my tumbling although the most advance skill I will throw anymore is a full twist which is a back flip in the laid out position with a full twist. I am not sure if I could swing bars or throw a vault anymore but i'd totally try!! I still say had trampoline been an olympic sport when I was growing up like it is now I could have gone to the olympics! ha.

I just want to say that the BCS title game was a joke this year. I am anti playoff but i'd be OK with a +1 system. It's sad that my twitter feed was full of Bama vs LSU tweets but none of them not one were positive most were mocking the game, calling it boring, etc etc etc. But what sent me over the edge and was the supreme mockery was when soccer fans were mocking it HELLO SOCCER?!? That's not even a sport for christ's sake. I will say for the record I didn't watch it and I am glad I didn't. I am all for great defense, but as a fan i'd would totally rather see a 49-42 game or baylor vs washington can't remember the score but those are FUN! Congrats to Cheryl, and Gary and Alabama on the title, and for the record BOOYA I never said I don't like Bama, I did say I don't like Saban he is a known DOUCHE you're too blind by your love of Bama to realize that most do not like him.

Alright have a great day, my headlight bulb in my car burnt out that's what I get to do tomorrow after work BOO!!
