Phew, that was close

So, with about 13 mins to go in our game with Alabama I kept thinking this isn't good, Cheryl is never going to let me live this down, then something funny happened on the way to an upset. We woke up! The Boilers finally started playing the defense they are known for, and a 16 point lead went to 10, then 5, then a Robbie Hummel 3 tied it, and DJ Byrd completed the comeback by hitting a free throw to give us our first lead in well a LONG TIME! It's funny I said our defense would be too much for Alabama, and I was half right it was too much at the end of the game, as from the 8:45 mark on they didn't not get another field goal, and #3 Mr Hustle, or The Secretary of Defense Chris Kramer literally took over the game on the defensive end and the rest as they say was history. Boy oh boy was I sweating it though, I just kept saying if we can just get it to 10 by the under 12, and then single digits at the under 8 and it was almost like they heard me! So, we move to 9-0 and prepare for Ball State at Conseco Fieldhouse on Saturday, as for Alabama I see a lot of wins in their future, and now I can root for them again. ROLL TIDE!

Some observations from the game
Kudos to the Boilermaker fans that made the trip to Alabama. They were loud and proud and it totally came across on TV. We heard the Boiler Up chant, Lets Go Boilers, and DEFENSE was really loud. That was neat to see, now I wish we would have made the trip! Then I could have gotten a cheryl cupcake too!

Our center JaJaun Johnson HAS to stay out of foul trouble. He played about 2 mins and had 2 fouls, came back and got his third. He has a tendency to pick up one after another very quickly, and he needs to stop that, since our back up tends to get eaten alive. At least until our other back up comes off the injured list.

I was impressed with Alabama, Cheryl and Gary I am sure you all will win a lot of games, and maybe even upset some teams. You have great athletes, quickness, and that press is really good. Also I think you have found the right guy as your coach, he's energetic and seems to be ready to tackle the job head on. The more you win the more it helps us as well, so ROLL TIDE!

I am excited for Alabama to visit Mackey next year, I think you'll be surprised by how crazy the atmosphere is there. There are times it seems like the roof is literally going to blow off the building!

I could go all year not having to listen to Jimmy Dykes call another Purdue game, he was TERRIBLE. At one point in the game he was talking about an Alabama player saying he was his HS "Salutation" I am not kidding, he meant salutatorian. He's an idiot, please no more of him espn thank you!

If there is a better defensive player in the country than Chris Kramer please show me? with 5 minutes to go he literally took over this game, and at one point had about 3 straight steals th at all led to points. He is really going to be missed next year, although he might come out for football that would ROCK!

Finally I have to say a big congrats to Alabama and their fans for Ingram winning the Heisman, they might not have beaten us, but they at least got to celebrate Saturday night. I was a tad surprised I thought it'd go to the Stanford QB, but after hearing him talk, I was very happy. What a nice, polite, well spoken young man. Scary he's only a soph! Always good to see Tebow not winning things too.
