Lots going on right now

Sorry I have been MIA lately, but just lots going on here. First let me say a BIG thank you to mother nature who is finally giving us some nice weather here in the crossroads of America. Although rain is being called for this weekend, it's been awesome here this week. Here is to hoping the warmth is here to stay.

Since I last posted here is what I have been up too.

It's been a crazy week. The varsity tennis team I coach, we had matches Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We also have an invite Saturday, but not looking so promising with the weather. I am sure what will happen is we'll get there and they will cancel, did I mention it's a 2 hr drive and we're leaving at 5:30 AM! So, we lost our first match this week on Monday it was a 3-2 loss, it came down to two doubles and they lost 6-4 in the third. It was a decent match, and to be honest we should have won. We won our next three though! We are 4-1 right now after a 4-1 win tonight. We just can't get our two doubles team to perform right now not sure what we're going to do. So, I apparently pissed off a coach from another team on Tuesday. It was also a 3-2 match and it came down to three singles and no other matches were playing, and after 3 hours we won, giving us the match win. Our girls ran on court and pretty much dogpiled our player. They waited til they shook hands, and were walking off the court, and the opposing coach walked by myself, and my staff saying "that is rude, we will never be doing that girls" Here is what I wanted to say, "Get a life bitch!" Tennis is such a stuffy sport, our girls were so excited to win, and it was HS kids coming together as a team and supporting each other. You see this happen in basketball, football, and baseball so I had no problem with it. We might see that team again in Sectionals, I am guessing they will want to win pretty bad.

American Idol is getting down to the last few, and my girl Syesha is still holding on, barely. They finally get Mariah Carey on the show, and I applaud her for getting thru her "glitter" stage of her life. David Cook is my pick to win it, and not just because he has ties to my hometown. His backstory for those that don't know, his brother is dying of cancer, and they flew his brother, his brother's doc, and a nurse out to see the show. I am guessing that had something to do with the tears Tuesday.

Lets see some of the things I did over my break. I slept ALOT, and it felt great. I finished reaidng "Intensity" by Dean Koontz, and I bought "Pandora's Daughter" by Iris Johansen. I played scrabble with my grandma, about 50 games of it! More on here in the next post. Oh, I finally mailed Cheryl her prize for winning. She received it, she got a Purdue shirt! I swear I had that idea way before Topolk suggested it. I do like that idea though Topolk that we all trade. That's about it I didn't really do anything exciting.

Finally, some purdue sports to talk about it. The hype over my beloved Boilermakers seems to be growing bigger and bigger and the 08 season just ended. Pretty much every poll has us top ten in the country for next year, and the most exciting news the pairings for the Big Ten/ACC challenge were announced. Guess who's coming to Mackey Arena, that's right the Duke Blue Devils! I know Duke is used to playing in loud places, but I guarentee Mackey Arena will be rocking like never before, I can't wait! David, we're gonna take your Devils DOWN!!! I know Shife will be rooting for us at least :)
