Season comes to an End, and oh yeah some Idol Chatter
First off you nonsports kids scroll on down and there is some nonsports stuff. The rest of you IE Cheryl, this is the sports part of the post. So, the season came to end tonight for my beloved Boilers as we lost to North Carolina in the elite 8. What a run though and I am so incredibly proud of this team for all they went thru. Last year after they lost to UNC in the sweet 16 our coach Kristy Curry decided to bolt for Texas Tech. In a couple of months after Coach Sharon Verspy was hired, what a great hire it was. She is a Purdue grad, and one of the all time greats. Coach Curry had signed the #1 recruiting class in the country, but after Coach V was hired two of those recruits chose to go else where. We then lost our projected starting point guard because it was revealed an assistant coach had written a paper for her. Which turned out OK because the one recruit who stayed became our starting point guard, and she is quick as lightning. Then one of our returning players while playing with the Russian National Team tore her ACL, folks we were down to 7 bodies they couldn't even do 5 on 5 drills. This team responded big time, they started out the season on fire winning the Preseason WNIT, but seemed to hit a wall during big ten season. They finished strong though winning the Big Ten Tournament, and first 3 games in the NCAA tournament. We lose 2 great leaders in Katie Gearlds, and Erin Lawless, but if we can get one recruit to stick with us(she was signed by curry) we'll be tough again. It was just a great year for Boiler fans. Our football team returned to the bowl season, although they hit it with a thud. Our mens basketball team returned to the tournament for the first time since 03. And of course our womens basketball team as I already mentioned. The future looks good for the boilers! That's a wrap on the 06-07 Purdue Sports Season, so for one last time, I have added the fight song to the blog again. Enjoy Hail Purdue

Now to the nonsports stuff. Before I get to American Idol thoughts for tonight I have to write about something. Most of you know my best friend Jenn who I've talked about before on here(not nutz she is my other best friend) Anyway some big developements from her. She is engaged to be married. Now ordinarily that is a happy time and we celebrate, but it's no secret I can't stand her boyfriend. We don't get along, but the thing is it's not just me nobody likes him! Let me break it down for you here. The kid is 21 yrs old, has not held a job for more then 2 weeks, and is currently on unemployement. To me that is red flag 1. I know for a fact she has put him on all her insurance benefits thru her work, and opened a credit card to help him pay off another one, red flag 2. The kid has a problem with drinking big time. I have met the kid 3 times, and all three times he has been drunk off his ass. The first time he came over later after we arrived it was the first time I was going to meet him, great first impression huh? He was 18 at time, he not only was drunk, but he drove that way. We were going on a trip to an amusement park the next day as a get to know you thin, he was so drunk he was throwing up all night, and was so out of it the next day he spoke 2 words. The next time I went to visit, Nutz was with me, and he was drunk again before we even got there! I know young people drink alot shit I am one but I can't drink, but to me he abused it when he drove red flag 3. He is just really disrespectful, I tried to be nice and get along, but have since given up. Not to mention he stole nutz's card game. The question is what should I do? Do I say something and risk losing one of my best friends? Do I just ignore it and hope he grows up sometime? Do I go to the wedding, Help me Blog Country!!!
Finally, American Idol was pretty good tonight. I love Gwen Stefani, for starters she is HOT. I thought most of the kids did really well. I usually don't like Gina, but I agree with the judges she did a really good job tonight, and for personal reasons I love that song "I'll stand by you" I was shocked when Jordin sang Hey Baby! Wow didn't see that coming she did really well. Chris R, sang one of my favorite songs "don't speak" I agreed with Simon you might go home. So anyway here are my predictions

I give up on thinking Sanjaya is going home, and wtf did he do to his hair what an asshat(or assclown per shife). I don't like Phil either so if he went home i'd be fine with that. I am also watching dancing withthe stars, and it's not doing it for me this season. The stars suck, but I am interested in how Heather Mills will do, and if her leg ever flys off, or she takes a tumble. It just gets me jazzed though for the better dance show, So you think you can dance!!

How old is Jenn? Is she 21 too? I'm guessing she is more mature and if you are close friends, she will appreciate you for caring enough to make sure she is ok by asking her how she really feels about this guy, etc. She probably knows that he is coming off like an infantile drunk in front of you guys - how could she not know? So, I don't think she would be embarrassed - does she think its cool or cute when he does that? Hmmmmmm
Tina- Sanjaya oh man! The producers need to just step in and say he is done hahaha. Haylee is HOT.
Jenn is 29, I am not sure what she thinks, I mean she is going to marry him. She knows I don't like him. I am so frustrated
Hey there Phats! I would go to the wedding for your best friend, even though he soon to be husband is not the type of man anyone should marry yet, hopefully he sorts him self out really quick. At least you can be there for her.

Re: the Lady Boilers, I watched the second half of that game just for you Phats. I wouldn't feel too bad about them losing to UNC, because I'm pretty sure that one player they have with the cornrows is a dude. Just sayin. And that Gearlds is a heck of a player. I guess she'll go on to enjoy a successful career in the WNBA if that still exists...
Re: the wedding, just go. I know it will be hard to sit on your hands when it comes time for any objections, but you should be there for her. Hopefully the guy will turn out ok once he grows up a bit, but if not I'm sure you'll still be there for her in the end.
I missed out on Idol last night. They did all Gwen Stefani/No Doubt songs? That's crazy.

Duck- Thanks for watching the game, we played well still proud of them for sure. It's funny I said the same thing about Larkins, and I hate Latta. They didn't all sing Gwen/no doubt songs. Just three of them Sanjaya, Jordin, and Chris R. If I end up going to the wedding I am dragging Nutz with me.
Sorry about the Lady Boilers my friend. They played tough and the future looks bright for Purdue sports. I hope I can say that some day for my Vandals.
As far as your friend is concerned, sometimes people have to get burned before they learn. It sucks that your friend will probably get married and divorced to learn that lesson. My advice to you would be maybe do an intervention type of deal where a group of friends tell her their concerns. I do think you should say something because it will weigh on you later if the marriage does not work out, but I think you need to be as nice and polite as possible when you tell her your worries.

Thanks for still posting about sports when I apparently am one of the few left who loves to hear about it! LOL I was SO sad to see Purdue lose. I know how bad you wanted them to win, but they really did well! I didn' tget to see it "live," but caught some of the highlights. Looked like a good game! You had a good sports year--better than ours down here in Tide country. But maybe next year (you know that football season is only like 160 days away, something like that! haha!)
I LOVE Gwen Stefani too and was really excited that theywere doing her songs. I was dissapointed that they didn't do more actual GS or No Doubt songs, but... I didn't see this either, but have read all the recaps and caught some videos online today. Sunjaya??? his hair? it's like a freakin train wreck!
And now about your friend Jenn and her boyfriend/now fiancee. I also have a friend who had a bf none of us could stand and we didn't want them to get married and I still don't like him 15 years later... but they did stay married! lol
Jenn's fiancee sounds like he is totally taking advantage of her and that he's a drunk to boot. I just hate that! I think you have to be honest with her to some degree; a marriage with him won't last! Introduce her to some hot guy who'll really flirt with her and make her wonder about whether her fiancee is right or not for her!
I was kinda kidding about that last piece of advice, but only kinda sorta... lol But she needs to know somehow that there are other, better guys out there who are responsible and will respect her!

Oh man... that friend situation is a tough one. Unfortunately, I think if you say something, your friend will take it personally and she'll get REALLY mad at you. There's just not a nice way of saying your fiance is complete waste of space. Have you talked to her other friends that hate him? Maybe you can put it into writing and send an anonymous letter?

I think American Idol sucks this year to be honest with you. It's not doing it for me this year, But than again no one compares to my Elliot *Sigh*, Ahem, but honestly there is a voting poll to keep Sunazzhole on. And it's working. American is turning on the show I think and they are keeping the idiots on that can't sing. It's ruining the show.

I agree with gkw they won't be married long, so just wait it out. HOWEVER, you should say something (in a nice way) about any money things. She should NOT get in any financial trouble with him, he's young and probably knows that she's going to help him out with money. He doesn't give a shit about bills, saving, etc. She's gonna be stuck footing plenty of bills.

As for American Idol, I don't watch every week, but that guy that sang "Don't Speak" terrible, mostly because that's a great song and Gwen rocked it; he messed it up. Sanjaya can't really sing, he should go. I don't know what to say about the hair.
I wish that rocker chick was a better sounding rocker chick, but she did make good with 'I'll stand by you'.

with regards to your friend, go, support the best you can. she'll hate you if you don't. when they break up, you can be an understanding shoulder. we can only learn our own lessons.
i missed idol but i know that website "vote for the worst" and howard stern are backing sanjaya. i personally had a dream last night that i was at a fashion show and the outcome was completely based on whether sanjaya showed up.
