WE'RE GOING BOWLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, another great weekend for Phats! For those of you who don't know my Boilermakers won Saturday 42-31 over Illinois, making them 7-4. This assures a winning season and a bowl game WOOHOO!! Which means I will be traveling somewhere nice and warm over the holidays. It seems it will be one of two destinations, Florida or Texas. Now, no offense to my friends in Texas but I am hoping Florida. We have a shot at 3 bowls, the Outback Bowl, the Champs Sports Bowl, and the Alamo Bowl. Outback is played in Tampa, and is probably a long shot, but with some help(a PSU loss) you never know. The other two, Champs sports and Alamo it's really up in the air We will get one and Iowa will get one. Iowa does travel well, but will likely have a worse record then Purdue, but once 2 teams from one conference go to a BCS game you throw that out the window. Iowa did beat us so you really can't complain if they get chosen ahead of us. I am hoping Champs Sports, but it will probably be Alamo, but after missing out last year I don't really care where it is just happy to go! Now we turn our attention to rivalry week, and the Bucket game. Hopefully we clobber those pansy's down south. I would like to thank Jef again for being the guest picker. I went to the Purdue womens basketball game tonight to watch the ladies play in the 2nd round of the WNIT. The #11 ranked Boilers killed Hartford tonight 85-51. All 5 starters were in double figures, led by Lindsey Wysdom-Hylton's 18 pt 14 rebound performance. Although it was the performance by Freshman point guard FaKhara Malone that turned heads. 15 pts, and 7 steals which tied a Purdue Freshman record. This team is going to be good, and fun to watch. The men tip off their season tomorrow, vs Northern Colorado. BOILER UP!
Can you believe Thanksgiving is like a week away? So what are all of you doing for the holiday? I will be having dinner with my whole damn family, should be tons of fun. Incase you can't read it that was sarcasm. My relatives get into town from Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday. Since this will be the first chance we have had in a long time to have all the grandkids together we're taking a picture. There will be 6 of us, and it won't be fun. The youngest is like 3rd grade I think? I believe it's a Christmas gift for my grandma, and she has been asking for this for a long time, and we haven't been successful so at least she'll like it.

Thanksgiving is a week away? I better get cracking! One of my friends ask me tonight to think about going to New Jersey for the holiday. We went a couple years ago. Her daughter lives there. Phats smile pretty in that picture..its a great gift to give to your Grandma, she will be so pleased!

Snow!! I always ask my bloggin friends when it snows to throw a snowball for me. That is the only thing I miss about snow is the snowball fights.
Thanksgiving plans well we were planning on traveling to Missouri to spend it with the my outlaws errr I mean my inlaws but I don't know for sure yet if we are going to get too. If not I will be cooking up a big ole' feast here. So put your order in on what kind of pie you want. :)

Yep, I was referring to you on my blog about the weather! It actually was like 39 degrees and windy AND we were outside at a softball park. Yuck . . .
Congratus to Purdue! Boiler Up! We're bowl eligible too, but that's about it. Wah . . .
I plan on being completely drunk from weds night all the way through thurs, so be prepared for some crazy posts....

Hello WHOO HOO person! I think your Thanksgiving plans sound great and the photo idea is special. Hope it all works out. It sounds like your thanksgiving will be big, I love family gatherings. We don't have thanksgiving here but I did experience it a few years ago with my fiance's family, we had a nice time.

I got all excited when I read your title. I thought, "Yea! Phats is going to talk about a sport other than football, or basketball!" Then you had to go and ruin it by talking about Bowl games. *yaaaaawnnnnn*
Anyway, my whole family will be together for Turkey day too. We're packing up the family truckster and heading to NC to celebrate with my sister, her hubby and my nephew. My bro and his woman will be coming down too. It'll be quite close quarters though. My uncle said he's bringing his tent, sleeping bag, and air mattress!!!
We're also doing the family pic for my uncle. He wants one so he doesn't forget what we look like after he retires in May as he'll be roaming the country after that in his RV!
Well I hope you survive the holidays, and the picture is for a good cause. If it makes you feel any better, me and Mrs. Shife will be skiing in Lake Tahoe for turkey day. Good luck in getting a good bowl game.
