SPRING BREAK!! WOOHOO

So it's officially spring break here HELL YA! The good news, I am off my feet all week just relaxing, the bad news I am not going anywhere cool or anything. I am still gonna work some hours over at the tennis center though. It's just nice not to go from job 1 to job 2 with like 20 mins in between. I am really going to take advantage of this week because the first week back is hectic with a capital H! We get back I have 1 practice Monday then we have a matches, Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Sat. It's so nice too that they scheduled three straight conference matches when we get back peachy eh? So, for spring break my goals are

1. RELAX!
2. SLEEP
3. READ
4. PLAY SOME TENNIS
5. LAST BUT NOT LEAST SPEND TIME WITH KRISTEN :)

Lets see Indiana will be starting a first this weekend, as we will observe daylight savings times for the first time ever! It's kind of cool, I am okeh with change but some weird stuff will be happening. Certain counties in the state petitioned to go on the same time zone as Chicago, and a couple counties in the region were already on that time zone, so they get to stay on it. It makes it really weird because the county to our north will be on a different zone then our county. How stupid is that? I always thought Indiana was cool not going with DST, but now that it's here might as well except it and move on. Hopefully I will remember to reset my clock!

Spring weather is FINALLY here YIPPEE!!! It is 70 degrees today, I love it! I could seriously live someplace where the weather is like this year round. However right now we are under a tornado watch, hopefully won't become a warning but it's got that feeling here. Knowing my luck this week will be beautiful and all of next week will be nothing but rain, cold, or even snow I will keep you updated.

American Idol, Lisa bit the dust :( I liked Lisa but it was her time to go, I was shocked to see Katharine in the bottom two though. I really hope Kellie and Bucky end up in the bottom two because I don't like either of them. I don't see them going anytime soon though esepcially with Tuesday being country week. That is their strong point.

So, I am on hold right now on the phone with my friend Jenn who is driving back from Indy to Schererville. Said the wind is really nasty up towards Lafayette and so I checked the weather and the bad storms are on their way! So I am winding this puppy down. Everyone have a great weekend!

Katina's Korner

If anyone had noticed, I did take a leave from the blog world for awhile. Work was hectic, especially moving in my OWN office with four walls and a door that locks!! I'm moving up baby. So I came back to blog world with a name change. Only Phats & I get the joke about it...maybe one day you guys will too.

The other day, TGP asked how Roxie was doing and of course I'm a proud mom and had to brag. She is doing good!! I've adjusted well to motherhood (took me a bit) and we are getting along really well. She is 4 months old and weighing in at 31 lbs!! LoL. I like big dogs...well I like everything big ;-) She is completely potty trained at MY house...we have troubles elsewhere. We are working on the walking. I LOVE to walk and the places I brought her had tons of dogs and people and she got distracted and would jump and just not want to walk...so it irritated me. I found a place close to me in a neighborhood with less dogs and hardly anyone out...so we have been walking there and it has been working out. Here is a picture of her from yesterday on the way to my friend Deb's house for a play date with her dogs. She loves riding in the car!!

Onto other news...umm not much else going on. This weekend is the Final Four in Indianapolis...downtown will be BUSY. Also, this will be the first time we will be observing Day Light Savings Time!!! So on Saturday night/Sunday morning, I will have to remember to Spring Forward!!! LOST was pretty good last night...that balloon guy is creepy. OOO I also got a post card from Mike H when he was in California....I was surprised and it made my day. Thanks Mike H!!

Everyone have a great day and a great weekend!!

Don't Pick Pickler!

Ahhh, my life is finally slowing down a bit, and I have been able to get back to all of your awesome blogs and do some reading. What have I learned, lets see that shife's nipple's bruise, Rocky is trying to traumatize me for life, Shannon's daughter looks just like her, Tina likes the beach, Colorado Hurrican got a new job woohoo, Hippo posted homer, and spygal still isn't back. Also the BIGGEST news of all Cher had her baby!! A big congrats to Cher and Rob :) I am happy for you guys and glad everyone is healthy. What a blogtastic world we live in. Hmm alright time to bore you now as I catch you up on what ole phats has been up too.

Cleveland trip
It was awesome!! We had such a good time, up until the last two seconds of the game. We started our day at the pep session at 10, then headed to the arena to watch the evil empire(lady vols) play Rutgers. UT won not too much drama, and no dunks by Candace. The Purdue/UNC game was awesome, what a game! It was interesting because going in NOBODY gave us a shot. That dumb idiot Kara Lawson at ESPN even said "Purdue has absolutely no shot to beat UNC" Yeah, I don't like her anymore I wish ESPN would fire her. So, the game is going on and the longer it goes and the more Purdue hangs in the more excited we get. Thinking we might pull this off, but then it happens. The little cocky ass half pint Ivory Latta hits the game winner with 2.9 secs to go, season over. Bummer! Let me say this I will not root for UNC in womens hoops ever after the display of arrogance they showed, and the remarks of their head coach. Ivory Latta is one hell of a basketball player, it's too bad she can't just play the game. I would probably pop her one if I had to guard her. My favorite part of the game was the Purdue band taunting her by singing "I'm a little teapot" "the oscar mayer song" and "jesus loves the little children" CLASSIC! Nice job band. Finally we will infact lose our coach as she took the Texas Tech job. Oh well, we'll bring in someone GREAT I am sure. Those of you who keep commenting "bleh sports" or something like that deal with it, it is my blog and sports are a big part of me.

Speaking of sports, let me share with you why I hate coaching a spring sport. For those of you who don't know I coach girls varsity tennis. The weather is so unfair to the spring sports, we have been outside in coats hitting tennis balls. I am tired of wearing layers of clothes to practice just to keep warm. The other day I swear my hands went numb they were so cold. One day we had to shovel snow off the courts, yeah tons of fun! The good news is we are suppose to get a warm up for the rest of the week, but I am sure the cold will be back every now and then. We have 21 girls out this year, and a lot of first time players. Honestly we won't be very good, but they are good kids at least and work hard. Our season opener is the tuesday after spring break. Gonna kick some Cass!

Look at this transition, speaking of spring break. It's starts Friday WOOHOO!! Although I am not going anywhere, I am greatly looking forward to it, just to finally get some rest. Saturday I am going to my nephews' 3 yr birthday party. They are twins, Tate and Trey and they are having their party at their gym where they take gymnastics. My sister has asked Kristen and I to do some power tumbling for everyone to see, so that will be cool. I got them a thomas train set it's pretty awesome. Other then that I am going to relax, and play some tennis over break woohoo!! :) SPRING BREAK ROCKS!

American Idol,
I can't stand Kelly Pickler, I just want someone to squeeze her head until it pops! She annoys the hell out of me, I am starting to wonder if she is really that stupid, or just playing that card to get votes. So tonight to be honest with you I wasn't impressed really with any of them except Elliot. I think he saved the show with his performance of "I don't wanna be" it was awesome. My only complaint I got a little seasick with all his bobbing up and down. My pick, Paris was good, but nothing great still voted for her though. I think Lisa will go, but I am hoping it's Bucky, Ace, or kelly. Don't like any of them. Any of you watching the Amazing Race? I was pissed off at Lake tonight for Yielding the double D's! They are not as big of a threat as Ray and Yolanda, stupid move buddy. Not to mention Eric and Jeremy won't be happy either. It's strange but I find myself rooting for those two, along with the nerds, hippies and team Mojo. It's a good show if you aren't watching it you should.

I think I was challened in my comments by Design Goddess to a karaoke contest, so all I have to say is IT'S ON!! haha :) Umm, I finished my new Iris Johansen book tonight, and moving on to Stephen King's "Skeleton Crew" not sure when I will start it, maybe spring break. I joined a book club online. My sister found this great book club, she got 7 hard back books for 24$. The only agreement is you have to buy so many within 3 years, so I joined too. We're gonna get books we both like and swap. If anyone wants the link I will post it. Alright that's all I got for ya kids.

Leaving For Cleveland

I am getting ready to take off with Kristen and a few friends for Cleveland. Going to watch the Purdue women play in the sweet 16 vs North Carolina. Win or lose I have to come home, work calls :) It's a very interesting time for the women considering all the drama going off the court. First the suspensions of Cherelle George(6th person of the year in the big ten) and Assistant Coach Katrina Merriweather for violating rules. Now the hottest rumor is Kristy Curry (head coach) will leave at the end of the season and take the Texas Tech job. Here is the big incentive for her she makes 300,000 at Purdue and the last coach at Tech made 600.000. I hope she doesn't leave because she is a hell of a coach, and a great recruiter, but if she decides to go I hope our #3 nationally ranked recruiting class doesn't go with her.

GO BOILERS BEAT TAR HEELS!! we're kind of like the ugly step sister in this region the one team nobody is talking about, time to shock the world.

Answering some of your questions from comments left.
Phoenix- I have no clue what a podcast is don't make fun of me too much please
Rocky- I freakin' love air supply and I am not afraid to admit it! I sing this song that is playing all the time to my gf Kristen, I can play it on piano too :)
Rocky again- I am scared to death of fish, some people might think I am joking or kidding, but I am not. I won't eat them, I don't want to be anywhere near them, I want nothing to do with them. I freaked out at Disney World when my family made me ride the living seas attraction ACKK!!
Seahag- I have posted several pictures, and I have told you a dozen times I am not scared of cats I just don't like em. Okeh maybe I am a little scared of them but they are sneaky little shits! I just totally prefer dogs, you can trust them!

As for the Ben Gross/Katina Cloud thing, that is an inside joke with Nuts and I. Lets just say Nuts has a little bit of a mean streak to her ;)

Have a great weekend everyone and remeber to BOILER THE FUCK UP!!! GO PURDUE!

"Hail Hail to old Purdue all Hail to our old gold and black Hail Hail to old Purdue our friendship may she never lack Ever grateful, ever true thus we raise our song anew(Fire Up!) Of the days we've spent with you, all Hail our old Purdue GO BOILERS!!"

What a FIND!!!

I am freakin' stoked I found the video code for "making love out of nothing at all" by air supply SAWWWEETT! I love air supply, mock me if you must, and I am sure most of you will. This song is my karaoke favorite! Design Goddess even made me a special picture with the group. I would share it but I am afraid of you nuts seeing my ugly mug.

Had to do some clean up on aisle 4 tonight after my partner in crime decided to switch identities on me. I am still laughing from Miss Cloud's first post hahaha! I wasn't planning on blogging but what the hell right? Thanks to those of you who still comment you rock big comet in my book and you'll be a friend to the program for life.

"the beating of my heart is a drum and it's lost and it's looking for a rhythm like you" That's my favorite part of the song, what a great song!

=)

Has anyone seen Ben Gross?

How sweet it is!

How about those Boilers baby, SWEET 16!!

I have been so incredibly busy lately it hasn't even been funny but I thought tonight would be a good night to update this thing. For starters I was at Mackey Arena tonight as the Purdue women's basketball team advanced to the sweet 16 by defeating UCLA 61-54 woohoo!! Way to go ladies. Unfortunately we're in a loaded bracket with North Carolina, Rutgers, and UT the lady vols. It won't be easy but now you're at the stage where anything can happen, so watch out Tar Heels, Boilers are coming for ya!! Ironically that's shife's team, maybe we should bet. Umm on second thought UNC will be a big favorite maybe not :) BOILER UP toot toot BOILER UP!

American Idol tonight was soooo good, they all did so well. However there were 2 people I thought were bad, and I hope we see them in the bottom two. First was Bucky he was just not that great, especially compared to everyone else, and Kevin, they really need to get this kid out of the competition or before long he'll be in the final 6 like John Stevens. More then likely someone I really like will probably go, or someone that was great, but hopefully it's Bye Bye Bucky! Back to the trailer you go. I voted for Paris, she was so AWESOME tonight. The one thing that bugs me about idol is let Simon Cowell talk. I hate when Paula interrupts him, he lets you make your point let the man make his point, and then she gets the audience all into with boos it's crazy let him speak Paula, and you can go back to your pills.

Links, so Steph has left the blogworld and gone to myspace, and I am going to be replacing her link soon. Any suggestions from you crazy kids out there as to who should replace her?? Should I bring someone back like Future, Cupcake, or someone else, or add someone new?? As for myspace, I seriously can't believe she is a member of that, but if she wants to battle teens and perverts that's her choice. Myspace is full of creeps for the most part, any of you that read this becareful if you have a myspace account.

Tennis season is in full swing now, a week and a half of practice is in the books. That is part of the reason I have been so busy. We have 22 girls out and I chose not to cut. Already I have yet to have a practice with all 22 girls, and I am not allowed to complain about it, small school politics suck. I have already had to deal with a parent because her daughter was not involved in the picking out of the uniforms, this parent is PSYCHO! Last but not least the lovely Indiana weather has not cooperated at all. Snow today forced practice inside, and with the cold we have been outside maybe 3 days. We have the rest of this week, next week, and then they go on spring break. They get back we have 1 day then our first match. It's going to be a long season, and I am starting to second guess why I did this to myself.

Alright that's all I got. Real quick, bottom three will be Ace, Kevin, and Bucky, and The buckster will be sent packing FINALLY. Best Performance of the night Mandisa, worst, Bucky have a great Humpday everyone! Hippo and Shannon share your thoughts about Idol!

Busy Busy bzzz

Just wanted to apologize in advance, I am busier then a bee right now and won't be updating much for awhile, or visitng blogs as frequently to comment. I will try to get an update sometime :) I enjoy all of your blogs immensely so I will hopefully be reading them soon. By the way Rocky, I will try to not hook you while I am out fishing :) FYI I am not really fishing, most of you who know me well, know I am scared to death of all fish.

One quick note on Idol, not surprised by Melissa getting voted off, was wishing it would be Ace or Kelly. Heard on the radio that Kelly is dating Constantine from last season.

Hopefully back soon! :) and go boilers!

Bracket Racket

Well, as promised this is going to be my NCAA tournament entry covering March Madness. I was waiting til tonight because the women's selection was on tonight, and that's the important bracket because that is the one Purdue is in. I don't expect spy, and some others to comment considering this is about sports, but hey what can you do right? This is my favorite time of the year I love it! So, how many of you will be filling out brackets, and entering office pools?

As always there were some surprises on both the mens and the womens side of the bracket but we'll get back to that. Lets start the ball rolling with the men and take a look at the #1 seeds.
In atlanta we have the hated Duke Blue Devils and their fearless leader JJ Redick, one of the best shooters I have ever seen(sorry shife). They received the overall #1 seed as well. Memphis took the #1 seed in Oakland, this was the one seed not too many were sure of, I don't think until the conference tournaments were done anyone was sure if Memphis had it or not. In DC the 1 seed is UConn, this is no surprise at all, this is the team picked by many to win the whole tournament this year. Finally the 1 seed in Minny is Villanova. An injury to a key player might have put their one seed in doubt, but the Wildcats were able to snag it. I think for the most part the 1 seeds were right on, have I mentioned I hate Duke?
Predictions for the 1 seeds
First 1 seed to lose- Memphis
1 Seed that is the biggest fav to win it all- Uconn

So, when the bracket comes out it's always just as intriguing to see who got in that shouldn't have, and who got snubbed. I believe this year the winners for getting the bid were Utah State, and the Air Force Academy. I was shocked to see Air Force in, they had horrible numbers for their RPI and Strength Of Schedule. That being said and everyone saying they don't belong watch them go out and win their first round game. Biggest snub is easy, it had to be Cincy, everyone thought the bearcats secured their golden ticket, most didn't think it was to the NIT. I thought Michigan not getting in was a crock of horseshit too, I know they stumbled down the stretch, but they played a tough schedule and came up with some big wins. So lets take a look at some teams that were over and underseeded.

Overseeded
Tenn. How in the hell did they get a 2 seed?!?
Indiana. a 6 seed? You have to be kidding me! They got a cush draw too, bastards

Underseeded
North Carolina/Florida. I think both teams had a case for that final 2 seed that UT got. UNC hurt themselves by losing in the ACC tournament semi's, but Fla won their tournament.
Boston College. Not for their seed but because they got shipped out west as a 4 when the 5 nevada stays on the same timezone, ya that's fair.

Other notes from the bracket
Best first round games
Arizona vs Wisconsin. The always sexy 8/9 game should be a dandy
Pitt vs Kent State(DG's team!) Could this be the 12/5 upset this year?
Best potential second rd match up
Indiana vs Gonzaga. Who would I root for I can't stand either. IU plain SUCKS, the Zags are overrated. I guess I'd root for the Zags
Syracuse vs LSU WOW what a great match up here, especially with the roll the Cuse is on
Pitt vs Kansas. This would be a great game. I can't wait for this thing to start!
Don't bet on it, team that will flop
Gonzaga. Ever since they went from being cinderella to favorite they have choked. They don't play defense and you know the old saying "Defense wins championships.
Cinderella
Going with Northern Iowa this year, watch out for the Panthers.
Final Four
Texas vs UCLA
Uconn vs Florida
Uconn over Texas for the national title. BOOK IT, but don't bet on it :)

Onto the Ladies. Let me first say it was very odd to have selection Sunday turn into selection Monday. I was excited for this draw because the Boilers are in the field of 64 woohoo! It's the 13 straight appearance for Purdue, they went to the final four in 94, won it all in 99, and runner up in 01 thanks to a bad call sending the big moose ruth riley to the freethrow line. The controversy started early for the ladies as the number 1's were revealed being, North Carolina, Duke, LSU, and Ohio State. Everyone thought Tenn was a sure thing for a 1 seed, and Pat Summit the legendary coach of the Lady Vols was fuming after the show, more on that later. The women's tournament doesn't seem to get the upsets the men get, but they do have a 16 over a 1 in their history. So, the first region was Cleveland where UNC is the 1 seed, and then we saw it the Boilers name revealed as the 4 seed woohoo! We play Sunday vs Missouri State at Mackey! I will so be there so watch for me on tv. We were awarded the good fortunes of being a host for the first and second round, and expect the fans to support this bunch. Lets take a look at the bracket, first the 1 seeds
First 1 seed to lose
I am going with Duke they don't have the easiest draw. Although UNC could potentially face the 8 seed Vandy on their homecourt never easy.
Will all four 1 seeds advance to the final four- NO

Biggest snubs
Indiana State! How could the sycamores not get in, sure they lost in their conf. tournament but their RPI was in the 20's that was baffling.
Lucky to be in the field
Iowa- I was surprised in a down year for the big 10(11) the hawks got in. Good for them :)
Cal- Considering that they themselves said in press conferences "we are shocked to be in" well so am I!

Overseeded
Michigan State- WHAAAA a 4 seed for the Spartans, that was interesting.
Underseeded- UT, the lady vols did get hosed, not only a 2 seed but in the same region as the best one seed. It's kind of funny on one hand because everyone usually kisses their ass, but I do feel somewhat bad. Pat Summit said "it was a slap in the face" so I am sure the vols will be on a mission. Oh yeah guess who gets to go to Bridgeport again for the Sweet 16, yep the Huskies geesh, another year being a 2, and the potential 1 having to play them on basically their homefloor to go to the final four.

Best first rd games
UK vs Chattanooga. The Mocs could easily upset the cats.
UCLA vs Bowling Green. Winner gets Purdue if we win, BGSU no pushover.

Best Potential second rd match up
Baylor vs Fla- Defending champs vs the up and coming gators.
Purdue vs UCLA wow this will be an interesting clash of styles. The crowd will push the Boilers thru.

Don't bet on it
Oklahoma, played in a very down Big 12, might get shocked early.
Final Four
UNC vs Maryland
Uconn vs LSU
UNC over LSU
*My beloved Boilers will fall to UNC in the sweet 16. Playing in Mackey will get them to the sweet 16 easily defeating MO State, and then UCLA.

Best of luck to all of you out there that have teams in this year tournament. I think BOTH tournaments will be incredibly exciting. Remember these are college athletes and you should not bet on them, but if you choose to do so do it responsibily! Mens games start Thurs/Friday women Sat/Sunday. GO BOILERS!! BOILER UP!

BTW anyone catch the new reality show Cheerleader Nation?? it was freaking AWESOME! Me being a former college cheerleader, and now a coach I loved it! I wish I could coach a squad like that.

Idol Chatter

Well, American Idol is over for the night and we now know our top 12 contestants. Congrats to Paris, Mandisa, Kelly, Lisa, Katharine, and Melissa representing the ladies, and Elliot, Chris, Taylor, Kevin, Ace, and Bucky for the guys. Overall I think it's a pretty good top 12 and will make for an excellent competition, I bet Hippo is happy that his Melissa made it thru. I was hoping for Ayla though she kind of grew on me :( Tonight Bo Bice performed and well I can do without having to listen or look at him, he was never a favorite of mine. Then they eliminated one lady, that being Kinnick, I really liked her she had a good personality, and really took it well. Following that we said goodbye to Will who again took it really well, especially for being so young. Then they started filling the 12 chairs with the ladies going first. After 5 chairs were filled it left Melissa and Ayla, and they asked Randy who would get the last spot he said Ayla, and well he was wrong Melissa took it, and poor Ayla cried. I think Ayla will do well in whatever she does, and I will be interested to see where she goes from here. I remember her saying that she had a basketball scholarship to Boston College, and she said she scored over 2000 pts in HS that's amazing. Best of luck to Ayla! Finally the guys top 6 were named, and it came down to Gideon and Bucky. Ryan goes to Simon and asks who goes into the top 12, he says Gideon, and surprise surprise he was wrong, gideon goes home Bucky to the top 12. This was okeh with me, I wasn't that big a fan of him, and I couldn't look at his clown face it creeped me out! So, now the fun really begins, and I thought I would do a little pre top 12 awards for you all :) By the way, anyone else hope we have seen the last of the Brittwhatevertheirnameis twins??

The Nikki McKibbin White Trash Award.
This award goes to the person who stays on the show longer then they should. It's the white trash award because it's named after the queen of the trailer park herself Nikki McKibbin, who on season 1 kept beating the odds thanks to people voting from their trailers. The real shocker was when she made it to the final 3 sending crowd and judge's favorite Tamyra Grey home. A look back at other winners of this award:
Season 2 I had a hard time picking one here, because I was going to go with Josh Gracin, but he has had big success since Idol, so I decided not to go with him. Instead I chose Simon's Judge's Choice from that season Carmen Rasmussen. She sounded like a goat when she sang, and for about 3 shows in a row Simom slammed her with shot after shot and she took it, and stayed in the competition before finally bowing out.
Season 3, this one was easy Jasmine Trias the Hawaiian. Who could forget when she was blasted by Simon, and she broke down into tears, and certainly bought some votes that night sending powerhouse LaToya London home. The real kicker was while LaToya was doing her send off song, Jasmine was smiling and smirking to someone in the audience, not sure she knew the camera was on her??
Season 4 Scott Savol! He had more criminal chargers probably then any other idol, yet they allowed him to remain in the competition. That's when Simon started ripping him left and right and FINALLY the people stopped voting. He was scary!
This season's winner, I am going with Ace. I think he will get by on women voting for him. He doesn't sing that great, the other night I thought he sounded terrible, and I think he'll last longer then some of the favorites. We'll see, runner up Bucky Covington, he might stay in cuz he will have the trailer park demographic like Ms McKibbin!

Need more tissues then Paula award- I think Paris has cried more then any contestant in the 5 years combined, she might need to start sharing tissues with Paula if she stays on the show long.

Most likely to succeed and not win, this award is easy I think Chris has it wrapped up. I don't think he'll win the competition, but I don't think he'll need too. He'll go on to do great things with or without the title, this is just a stepping stone to help him.

Finally the bold predictions of winners, final four all that jazz
The final 5(I couldn't do 4!) will be
Mandisa
Chris
Elliot
Paris
Katharine.
Alright lets break this down horseracing style.
Show(3rd)- Paris, She will build an incredible following, and come close but she won't win it.

Place(2nd)- Elliot, Great vocals, get him to the finals but won't take home the crown.

Win(1st)- Mandisa, she won me over the last three weeks, and I will be voting for her and Paris :) I know this is not who I went with originally but I really like her moxy!

Biggest Longshot
Kevin- I see Simon cutting him down week after week, unless he improves he'll last awhile due to being likeable, but Simon will finally get thru.

So there you have it my predictions for the top 12, which will probably change every week!

Now some random ramblings
I played Hooky from work today, shhh don't tell. I went down to the big ten tournament in Indy for the Purdue game. I figured this would be our last game and it was. We lost 70-58 to Michigan State, but put up a hell of a fight. I don't mind losing to MSU, they are a great program and I like Coach Izzo. Should be a hell of a match up tomorrow with them vs Illinois. I will have a bracket special post coming after they are revealed. I will wait til Monday evening when the women's field is announced as well. That's the more important bracket to me because that is one the Purdue will be in :)

I was upset nobody did the Simpson's quiz but Mike H and Nutty, but thank you to Mike and Nutty for doing it. The winner was Mike H, he got a perfect score and the Extra Credit correct you win some prize I will think of it. I already thought he was a pretty cool fella, but after getting a 100% he is total aces! Maybe I will let you pick a Phat Tuesday topic? How does that sound. I can't believe more of you don't watch The Simpson's! I knew Shannon didn't because she asked what a "flaming homer" was! I was shocked.

I got a haircut today, went with a buzz cut, it makes me look hot. Okeh not sure about that but i'd like to think so? My nephew's, they are twins, they have a birthday coming up and I also got their gift. They are VERY big into Thomas the train so I bought them a trainset it's pretty cool. They turn 3 in April, and the party is April 1st at their gymnastics gym. My sister is asking me if I will tumble for everyone at the party, and well I love the spotlight so I said yes. The real question will be if I can convince Kristen to tumble too, and possibly stunt. I can't believe how much these little rugrats have grown it's crazy. Don't get any ideas though I am still not big on kids under the age of like 6.

Lastly, I added mr hippo to the dawgpound! He predicts american idol, and well killed Elroy Jetson in the process, it was cool. Give it a read, especially if you like idol

That's all I got for ya comment if you like, don't if you don't want too. Oh yeah the music of the post is Josh Gracin's #1 hit "Nothing to Lose" I thought with this being an American Idol post it was appropriate. Have a great weekend everyone!

Phat Tuesday's D'oh!

Ahh yes, welcome back to the most fun day of the week PHAT TUESDAY'S WOOHOO! I have been meaning to do this topic for some time, but I just kept thinking of other things to write about. Perhaps the d'oh in the title gives it away, but this week's topic is one of my all time favorite television shows, The Simpsons!

I have a little quiz for you all to take, and the winner will win something not sure what yet, and NO CHEATING! Cheaters go to hell, where they will meet all the lawyers of the world. Before we get to the quiz lets take a look at some facts of this marvelous show, and the family that resides on Evergreen Terrace, in Springfield. The Simpsons began their tv run back in 1987 as a series of shorts on the Tracey Ullman show, and premiered as a series in Dec. of 1989 on Fox. The show started on Thursday nights not moving to Sunday's til after season 5, since then it has been on Sundays at 8pm. It has replaced The Flintstones as the longest running prime time animated show in tv history(love the flintstones too!) Now onto the quiz! TGP I expect you to ace this quiz.

Alright here is the deal it's your job to match up the character to the catch phrase, and certain characters can be answers to more then one catch phrase. Best of luck, best score wins, i'll think of some silly and mundane prize to give you I promise.

Superintendent Chalmers(or Supernintendo Chalmers)
Krusty the Clown

There are many more, but didn't want the quiz to be too long. If I left out your favorite go ahead and share with me in the comments. I couldn't think of a good one for my favorite character Ralph Wiggum, other then "I choo choo choooosee you" or "I bent my wookie" but he only says those one time. Have fun and NO CHEATING!

Other news real quick, I want to talk about this today and I hate to bring a downer on the fun. Today was the funeral for a soldier who was killed in the line of duty in Iraq, the soldier was from Kokomo. The line of cars through the city was unbelievable, as well as seeing the beefed up security at a funeral. There was a group of protesters that were suppose to come to Kokomo to protest this funeral for the reason he died, serving our country in a war some don't believe we should be fighting. They started early by not only egging the mother of this man's house, but taking down her US Flag and shredding it to pieces. Now, I don't care what your position is on the war and what not, but when someone dies you should let them and their loved ones rest in peace, and grief properly. I was very peeved by this whole story and the ugly turn it took. Our governor passed a law before today's funeral that forbid the protesting of a funeral, and thankfully there was not one protester there today. The passing of a loved one is always hard, and this mother deserved better then to be badgered by people when all she can think about is her loss. That's all I have to say on this topic.

I hate to end on such a downer, so I will spread some good news, it's going to be near 70 degrees this weekend WOOHOO hello SPRING!! Please let it stick this time. Have a great Tuesday everyone. Oh yeah, please keep giving me the advice on how to propose as well from my previous post. It's greatly appreciated.

Phats.

Advice Needed

Hey Blog friends, doing some research and need some help here. I am wanting to know if you are a single lady how would you want to be proposed too, like where, when, how, all the details. Single fellas, any creative, cool ideas of proposing? Married bloggers, guys and gals please. How did your spouse pop the question, or for the male gender, how did you go about doing it? Was it a grand event, something small, hide it in the food come on people give me all the details please :)

I think I chose a Phat Tuesday topic that TGP will like, I felt bad because I don't think she and I are relating very well thru my entries. Or maybe she just complains too much hmm? I am still open to suggestions of what she would like me to write about, I will write about almost anything TGP. I had a great day today, I never left my house. I love these kind of days! I watched March Madness ALL day long. Saw Winthrop take the Big South, Murray State, the Racers, take the OVC, and the Belmont Bruins conquer the Atlantic Sun all earning tickets to the big dance in a few weeks. Watched the team that beat the Lady Kats last Saturday get clobbered, karma perhaps? I still managed to sneak in some Missouri Valley semi final action with Bradley, and Southern Ill. advancing. So you could say this was a hoops filled day for yours truly. Oh, I almost forgot Duke lost on Senior day bet that sucks JJ Redick. Congrats to Shife, I know he has to be on cloud 9! Tomorrow I am heading to Conseco Fieldhouse for the Big Ten Women's semi finals. Our beloved Boilers go up against IU(BOO!!) Remember to BOILER THE FUCK UP!! So, you could say this was a basketball weekend for me, I freakin' love this time of the year!

Guess what I got in the mail today?? My invitation to my 10 yr HS reunion, and that means Nutty will be getting hers soon if she didn't already get it. Our class is so lame, the 5 yr was a pot luck dinner catered by us, didn't go to that. This one is catered, and a picnic in the park the next day WHOOPIE. I will not be attending this, nor will I be sending back my little slip with all my information on it, I don't want those people knowing how to contact me! I don't know if Nutty plans on attending or not, what do you say Nutty, you answering Yes or No?

Alright please help me with the advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Have a great Sunday kids.

Idol Chatter and Jesus Freaks

Well, as most of you know I am a big fan of the show American Idol, I have been watching it since season 1. We are on season 5, and just keeps getting bigger and better. So far it is smashing every tv show it goes up against, including, Lost, survivor, and the olympics just to name a few. I know some other bloggers out there are fans of this show as well, so I thought i'd post about this season's crop of talent. The show this year started out as usual showing the very bad auditions, and a sprinkling of some of the good people as well. I don't like this part, I think it gets old and tiring. They finally, after like 8 audition cities, got to the hollywood rounds, and as usual high drama followed. Now we're at the stage in the competition where we are down to the best 24, 12 guys and 12 ladies, and they cute 4 each week til we have our top 12. Technically we're down to 20 because they cut 4 people last week. The ladies perform on Tuesday, the men follow on Wed and a result show on Thursday, that's a ton of idol! Alright here is this week's breakdown, as well as some bold idol predictions. Feel free to comment, especially you Idol fans!

When the first show of the top 24 started, after hearing everyone sing I thought man the ladies are far and away better then the guys, a woman will win this competition. Well after this week's performance, not quite as sure as some of the solid ladies from last week struggled. Here is some analysis of the ladies from Tuesday night, bare with me my memory is starting to fade in my old age. So, I thought the best performance of the night was Mandisa who sang Faith Hill's "Cry" it will be a real shame if she isn't in the final top 12. Do you really think her name is Mandisa? She appears to be a Mandisa when it comes to the looks, that might be what holds her back. I also enjoyed Ayla Brown the basketball star, some of my friends that I watch the show with can't stand her because she is too cocky. I told them she is an elite athlete, of course she is cocky. My favorite is still Paris, I can't believe she sang the song she did though, but the girl is awesome I hope she wins it. Lisa Tucker did great as well again, and I think that's awesome she was in the lion king! How about a little news on Kelly "pick" Pickler, a crowd favorite of some. I heard on a reality show on the net, that she is a real bitch. Said that she orders around the people that serve them breakfast, and said to a waiter "you should be lucky you are allowed to serve me" The source of this was JD Adams, a former idol contestant who was interviewing the Idols for a magazine. Imagine that, what some considered America's Sweetheart Kelly turns out to be a bitch. So, who do I think will get cut from the ladies, if I had to guess I would say Heather Cox, she was too full of herself, and not that great. The other choice for me would be Brenna, can't stand her! What do you all think?

The guy's tonight were better this week for me. I am not a fan of Taylor, I have never really liked him I think he is an oddball, and tonight didn't like his performance. My favorite from the guys is Elliot, the kid is funny looking but can sure sing. Chris the rocker is also cool, not sure how well he'll do with the public voting though. All three of the younger guys really struggled tonight, was it just me or does Kevin seem to be getting a big head? David, the crooner, is a sentimental favorite only cuz my friends say he looks like me, and Will, seriously dude you sang Lady? I totally agree with Simon about that one dude's smile it is freaky! Another of my favorites from last week, Ace, just didn't sound good tonight, but he will not be cut. My two I would cut would be Sway(he should have gone last week) and Will. Who knows I am not usually right though ha!
here is my top 12
Paris
Catharine
Lisa
Mandisa
Kelly
Melissa
Elliot
Chris
Ace
Taylor
David
Kevin

Just some other predictions
Winner- Paris Bennet
Runner up- Elliot
Guy that Paula Sleeps with- All the men? Okeh okeh, just Ace.
Guy most likely to sue- Will, to sue Ryan Seacrest for molestation, you see him try to undress the poor kid tonight? The kid looked shocked when he did it too.
Biggest scandal- It will be revealed that Taylor is really the father of kevin! Taylor cannot be in his 20's NO WAY!
Cutest girl- No carrie underwood's in this group :( but Lisa Tucker is cute, but just too young.
You lady bloggers out there are more then welcome to nominate a cute guy?
Most annoying- Hands down RYAN SEACREST! I think he thinks he is Jeff Probst(survivor host) wtf is he doing talking so much after performances?? Just do your job mister tan in a bottle intro them, and give the numbers and shut the hell up.

Alright that's all! Sorry you non idol fans, but Spygal was threatening to slit her wrists if I posted one more sports blog entry, and I couldn't live with myself if that happened. On to the next topic

Jesus Freaks UGH
Okeh let me just say I am not a very religious person, I never have been. I am not big on organized religion, and don't attend a church. Well, I was working at the tennis place the other day and this parent was sitting downstairs waiting on their kid to finish his lesson. Don't get me wrong she is a very nice lady, but she started talking church and I was being nice and smiling and nodding. So, anywho she asked "where do you go to church" I thought do I lie or just tell her, and so I said well I don't go to church. The lady starts naming off all these churches I need to try, and how I should go with her and her family! I was like well thanks, but I like to relax on my Sunday's and a lot of times I visit friends. She then tells me that I need to just try her church and I would be hooked. I said well, thanks but I will pass. Thinking the subject is dropped, I was relieved, until she says how about church on TV? I was like WHAT? She tells me I should totally try getting up to watch church on tv that there are some great programs and she has some on tape and will bring them to me. Now, I am starting to get pissed I don't like it when people cram religion down my throat and this is what I was starting to feel like. Thankfully, before I had time to answer her, her son was done with his lesson. I am fine with religious people, hey I think it's great but don't freaking force it down my throat! This area is heavy into religion, I think there are more churches in this county then any other in the state. So, pretty much you're surrounded by religion.

Alright that's all I got for ya. Exciting I know. Calling for snow here in Indiana Sunday, can you believe that crap!? SPRING WHERE ARE YOU?!

BTW I am still pissed off over the way we lost the semi state :(
