We're Elite!

First off the bracket challenge standings have been updated, and the winners announced scroll down for that. Congrats to the four winners on to pick the final four with me next. A big THANK YOU to all who participated again, wouldn't be a success without you.

So, I am pretty pumped right now as the Purdue Womens Basketball won their sweet 16 game tonight defeating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 67-61 to move to the Elite 8!! Next up we get to take on the Oklahoma Sooners in Oklahoma City for a chance to go to the Final Four. It will be a HUGE task for many reasons, but mostly because of the Paris twins that play for OU. Lets just say Courtney the star player could probably eat my whole list of Blog Links and still not be full. She also made some waves by saying that if Oklahoma didn't win the National Title this year she'll give back her scholarship money, pretty gutsy. I don't mind her saying that but you might want to think about it in a year where UConn has been dominate and already owns a 30 point whooping on yeah. So, we play Tuesday at 9pm on ESPN I believe. Boiler Up!

Wrapping up the mens tournament. What a great run our Boilers went on before losing to final four participate UConn. It was an ugly start to the game, then a nice run to cut it to 5 by halftime, then another ugly stretch, followed by a nice run. You get the picture, we could never get over the hump, and everytime we made a run they had the answer like a good team does. Lots of people around here, and a good friend of mine have been quoted as saying "Purdue doesn't have a big and they will never make a final four" I call bullshit! I think had we been in another region besides with UConn we would have been extremely competitive, shoot we drilled final four team Michigan State this year. Bottom line this was a great springboard for next year's team which will be deeper, and more experienced. We started a Junior, 3 Sophomores, and a Freshman, with our first player off the bench being a Junior. We thought expectations this year were high just wait til next year. Way to go Boilers, you made this Boilermaker proud!
