I love summer

Summer is definitely here, at least by the temperatures here in good old Indiana lately. I would like to clear up this misconception that I have the entire summer off. While that would be nice I really have 3 weeks off 1 in the beginning of June and 2 at the beginning of August. Yes, I work all summer, as I am employed by the city to teach tennis for the parks. That requires me to be on my feet from 9am-12pm, and 5-6. It's actually a great gig but when the temperatures get in the 90's it can be hard especially with the small children. In between I spend time at our pool lounging around working on my tan, and flipping off my raft to cool off :) jealous?

I love summer tv too, so you think you can dance has gotten to the top 20 which is the good part, and this year group of dancers seem to be really good, and I have kept with the voice as it is winding down. I will say I have started to get disappointed with that show though, it started out so promising but the talent level has really gone down hill. I am not sure there are more than 3 contestants that would have made it on this year's Idol. My favorite summer show though is Big Brother and it starts soon!! I love that show, I even tried out to be on it once, didn't make it unfortunately. The best part of that show is it's 3 days a week so it fills up a lot of time. Anyone else a Big Brother fan? Royal Pains returns here soon as well, I really dig that show too might be the only non reality show I am watching right now!

I really don't have much to blog about but I thought I better update here :) If you want more updates you can always follow me on twitter, I tend to tweet a lot more than I blog. Oh Yeah before I forget, I want to congratulate one of my best friends, and fellow bloggers, Bekah!! She has taken a new job, and I am so thrilled and excited for her as she starts out on this new journey. I am sure she is nervous and excited all rolled into one, but I have no hesitations in saying that she will succeed at anything she does. I am so happy for her!! She actually is making me get my butt in gear and look into some possibilities. Look forward to our first game night in your new digs!!

I had a pretty good birthday

First off thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes on my blog, and twitter I really appreciate it and even though I haven't met most of you in real life, Bekah and Nutz are the only exceptions, I feel blessed to have you all in my life and to call you friends. So thanks for helping make this birthday special! You guys are the best :)

So, my birthday was a weekend long celebration, which is how it should be. The festivities started on Friday afternoon when some of my coworkers took me to a nice Italian place in town for lunch really good food and I didn't have to pay as long as I let them sing to me which uhh I requested. That was a great way to kick things off for sure, good food and good friends. Friday night I played tennis with 3 of my best friends, it was boys vs girls and the boys prevailed 6-1, 7-6 I think they let us win since it was my birthday haha. We tried to play a 3rd set but the lights went out with the guys leading 4-2. After that went home and took a dip in our pool, I loveee night swimming it's the best!! I would have to say Friday was a success for sure!!

Saturday, was a split party day in the afternoon I had lunch with my family at my favorite restaurant Hacienda if you ever visit Kokomo it's a MUST EAT place :) After dinner had a reese cup ice cream cake which was delicious thank you DQ! Then opened gifts from the family, mostly got new books woohoo, oh and a game for my DS haha :) My mom got me 3 permanent seatbacks for the Purdue games so we can mark our terrority like dogs. So, the afternoon get together was a hit. Then I hit some graduation open houses before taking off for the night time party. As we were walking out the door we got put under a tornado warning, SERIOUSLY?! Thankfully it was lifted quickly and we headed for Indy, my friends took me on a pub crawl, again SERIOUSLY?! haha I way too old for that, and I can't even drink but we did have a good time, walked in the house with a very drunk Kristen at 4:30ish .

Today, the day of my birthday got texts, calls, hand made cards from my nephews were great. Then I had to head to our graduation. Had a few more open houses to hit, one being my number one singles player who I have known since she was in the 3rd grade. Then headed home for a nice steak dinner with the family. All in all another successful birthday. Now I am going to enjoy my last week off before my summer gig starts.
