HELL YA phats is HAPPY

What a night, what a win! So, I just got done watching my Boilers almost give me a heart attack after beating the Wisconsin Badgers AT the Kohl Center 64-63. This was every bit as close as the score too, and what a win for this team! We were down 56-51 with 3 mins to go and Wisky had the ball, and we got a rebound, and seldom scorer Chris Kramer nails a three, and then with under a minute to play the score 58-57 Wisconsin, Robbie Hummel who hasn't practiced since Dec because of a back problem, nails a three 60-58. Free throws, and a three at the buzzer by the Badgers made up the rest, but what a win! Teams don't win at the Kohl Center, and we have now won back to back years there, they have only lost to three Big Ten teams there, Illinois, Minnesota, and us. We are now 16-4 but more importantly keep the heat on Michigan State in the Big Ten Race. Not bad for a team that started out 0-2 in league play. I seriously doubt I will be able to sleep tonight.

Elsewhere in college hoops, the big showdown this week is in the ACC with #1 Duke vs #4 Wake Forest. I hate Duke, but if they win it helps our RPI, so I guess go Devils. I am so sick of everyone pimping the Big East. Of course they are going to have a lot of teams ranked, they have 16 teams in their league HELLO!?! I would like to play a Big East team in the tournament because they don't play defense.

Alabama let their head coach go, Cheryl you happy with that decision? Rumors are swirling that they want Tubby Smith, he'd be stupid to leave Minnesota. He'll never get attention at a football school like Bama, Minnesota loves him, why leave that. We'll see though.

I will be asking alot of you to participate in my March Madness contest again, if you want to see how it's run, check under Phats Bracket Contest in March archives. Cheryl is the defending champ, and it will be here before we know it.

Mother nature has decided to give me the bird again, we are currently under a winter weather advisory, and currently have 2.5 inches of snow on the ground. They are calling for 1-4 more inches tomorrow BAH. I hate winter I really do, I need to hibernate or something.

Alright everyone have a great hump day!

No Seahag Jr Yet

No baby yet, but never fear we'll keep trying and I will keep you all updated. Especially you Duck, I know how you want to be informed of my sexual escapades.

I just want to take this time to say Mother Nature KISS MY ASS! I am not exactly sure what I did to piss her off, but man our weather has sucked lately. Last week we had temperatures of negative 10, no that wasn't the windchill that was the actual temperature. With the windchill it ended up being negative 20 are you kidding me?! I was thankful my poor car even started. This winter has been harsh with two elements, cold and ice. Sure we have had some snow but not too much(Knock on wood) and we still have some on the ground, but man we got hit with 2 big ice storms. The first one was a few days before Christmas, and the second was recently. Luckily all of it happened AFTER I was in the comfort of my home for the night, but during the first one my sister and her family were traveling her for the holidays, and a drive that usually take them 45 mins took them 3.5 hours! I hate winter, someone wake me when it's spring. Here's a picture we snapped of an icicle hanging from our house.

I see only 2 reasons to like January, 1 college basketball conference races are heating up, and 2 American Idol starts back up!! First my Boilers are finally poking their heads above water after starting 0-2 in big ten play, we're currently 14-4 and 3-2 with a huge road trip upcoming 4 of our next 5 on the road in the toughest conference in America. We seem to take two steps forward one step back when it comes to staying healthy, the pre-season big ten player of the year Robbie Hummel is nursing a sore back, and our defensive stopper Chris Kramer is coming off a sprained ankle. I think it's better this way, last year we peaked way too soon, this year we should be rounding into form for March Madness.
I am so glad American Idol is back, and I am not embarrassed to admit it, I love this show. Obviously a lot of people do since it returned as the #1 show on television, and opened with 30 million viewers, and that actually increased on night two. So far, I like the changes they seem to be showing more talented singers early, and I love the new judge she has spunk and can sing. I am ready for Hollywood week though! I always laugh at people that say this show is a joke, or a farce, look at the results. I believe 6 former idols are all up for Grammy's, and one former Idol has won an oscar that's pretty impressive.

I am not a big fan of pro sports, I know hard to believe right, when I do watch pro sports it's usually football. So, I am taking this opportunity to say congrats to Mr Shife, for his team the Arizona Cardinals making the super bowl. I think everyone in America was shocked when this happened, but everyone in America who isn't from Pittsburgh is probably cheering for them! I know I am. Although after they win the super bowl, if you want to send some of their mojo the way of my Boilers it would be appreciated Shife.

Not much else going on, I started reading a new book, Cross Country by James Patterson, if you know the Alex Cross series it's the new one. So far, really good having a hard time putting it down. Been enjoying the coverage of the Australian Open, and jealous of their 100 degree weather. One day I would love to go there for the Open, as well as Wimbledon. I am participating in a suicide pool again, and so far so good and both my picks for today are still alive.

Hope everyone is well, Happy Hump Day

Lets get it on.........

So, last night our power went out not once, but 5 times, apparently a transformer blew. It came back on for like 1 hr hour and then it went off/on like 6 times before it stayed off for quite some time. When, the power is out, and it's cold there is nothing left to do really but have sex right? So that's what Kristen and I did, trying to make baby #1 we'll let you know if we're successful.

How was everyone's Christmas and New Years? Mine was pretty good, got some cool stuff some nice clothes from America Eagle, and Aeropostal, about 10 books as well as a gift card to the book store which I love, and some nice cologne. What was your favorite gift? This new year's was actually spent quietly at my aunts with family, I have come to not like that holiday so I was OK with that. We got a nasty ice storm 2 days before Christmas, my sister and her family were traveling here for the holidays a drive that usually takes them 50 mins took them 3.5 hrs! This is why I HATE winter.

You all might find this shocking, but I didn't really watch or even care about College Football Bowl Season. Sure call me a spoilsport since my team didn't make it, but I just couldn't get into it. I saw bits and pieces of some games, saw Boise try to run the hook n ladder again to no avail, I am guessing TCU watched the OU game. Saw that Utah made me look stupid by destroying Alabama, watched Texas Tech get exposed for having no defense, and watched a few mins of the Iowa/South Carolina game the ONLY victory for the big ten, that was impressive boys ;) Currently Florida and Oklahoma are playing for the National Title, and again just don't really care who wins. I know all these people calling for a change in college football with these 1 loss and undefeated teams crying foul, but I just don't wanna see a playoff. You'll still have at least 2 or 3 teams bitching about getting left out. I would change a few things though for starters who the hell wants to play a bowl game in cold weather? Seriously whose idea was it to put a bowl in Canada?? They don't even know what real football is do they??? Boise? Sorry Duck and Shife I am sure it's beautiful just have no desire to pack a winter coat for a bowl game, and maybe the worst Detroit, where walking to the game you could be robbed a gunpoint. I say do away with cold weather bowls!

By the way it's good to see Seahag back and blogging!!

Alright that's all I got, everyone have a great weekend!
