an open letter to God. haha

EDIT We Lost, God must not be a Boiler fan :( At least we know we run a clean program unlike Sanctions Sampson! The good news is we are still tied for first in the Big Ten. Wish we got IU at Mackey Arena though away from the homerdome known as Assembly Hall.

Dear God,
I know you're really busy up there and have a lot on your plate but if you could please just find the time to somehow have my Boilers win tomorrow I would be eternally grateful. You see we are playing our arch rival the Indiana Hoosiers, and well they aren't so honest and I am pretty sure they have the Devil himself on their own sidelines as the coach. So, I know you're busy but don't you want to see good conquer evil? I am literally dying for a win tomorrow so whatever you can do to help will be appreciated.

Ha alright so I know God doesn't really care who wins this game tomorrow, but every little bit helps right? Although, I think it's safe to say God is NOT a Duke fan after their game Sunday night that was pretty funny to watch. As I said we play IU and I hate them, I physically hate everything about them. Their fans are so arrogant, their coach is a known cheater, and they think they own the state. We need this win bad to stay ontop of the big ten, currently we are 21-5 and 12-1 in the big ten, IU has 2 losses in the Big Ten so you can see how big this game really is. I am asking all of you my blog buddies to say a big BOILER UP tomorrow night at 7pm. The game is on ESPN 7 PM please help pull my Boilers thru. See God I didn't even say the "F" word this time when talking about IU! What makes this game even more important it's the only time we play this year unless we meet up in the Big Ten Tournament, so it's a BIG GAME! That should earn me some points right

Leaving you with some youtube clips I found. This is proof that Purdue basketball is back. The team returned home from Wisconsin 2 weeks ago to the Purdue airport after defeating the #8 Badgers(the first big ten team besides Illinois to beat them at the Kohl Center) where close to 200 members of the Paint Crew(student section), and fans met them. Here are some clips from the scene. Had I still been in college you bet I would have been right there with them!

From WLFI the Lafayette news channel

Some fan must have taken this, you can see when the team arrives as they go crazy haha love it.

Finally, while they waited for the team the few band members there play the staple of the under 4 media time out.

I am on cloud 9 nobody pop it!

These past couple weeks have been so amazing, I don't want them to end! Yes, this is another sports post, if you don't like it TOUGH SHIT. The Baby Boilers accomplished a first in Purdue Basketball History tonight defeating two top ten teams back to back! After dumping #8 Wisconsin Saturday, they defeated #10 Michigan State tonight 60-54 yours truly was there and let me tell ya Mackey Arena was ROCKING. It was so loud my ears were literally ringing! The students had been camping out since noon waiting to get in. Originally they were camping out this past Thursday but officials made them stop because of our windchills. Purdue basketball is back baby, and we're being led by Freshmen and Sophomores, the future is bright. It was also pretty cool the local news station in Lafayette showed them returning from Wisconsin and about 200 members of the Paint Crew(student section) were at the airport to greet them at 2am, just awesome! Boilers now 20-5 (11-1 big ten) next up at Northwestern Saturday. I seriously think Robbie Hummel is my hero! In Painter we trust!

So, this isn't an entirely a sports post, I saw a great movie over the weekend. Yes, I actually had free time can you believe that!?! My sister, brother in law, Kristen, and I went to see "Untraceable" It's about cyber crimes where the killer kills live over the internet. Let me tell you I will never meet people from the net after seeing this movie JESUS. It was good though definitely got the Phats seal of approval. If you dig suspense type movies this is for you. I liked it because it's alot like some of the books I like to read. I want to see Semi Pro with Will Ferrell next I think that looks fing hilarious.

Winter struck us again here in the heartland, not as bad as they called for but still got some snow and ice. Will someone just wake me when it's over please? Anyone got big plans for Valentines Day? Since I was at the game I had to tape all my favorite shows tonight and Tuesday is a good tv night now! American Idol is at hollywood week I plan to get in my bed and watch that here in a minute, Big Brother 9 started tonight with the twist being they are playing as matched up couples pretty cool, and yes I watch One Tree Hill haha! Go ahead make fun of me, it's a good show damn it.

Have a great hump day

Hey..... remember me?

So, I guess I haven't blogged in awhile eh? Thanks for those of you coming by and still leaving comments. I wish I had some wild and crazy story to tell about my absence, but really it comes down to one word, BUSY. I have been so busy lately and it sucks, and even more it hasn't given me a damn good thing to write about. So, those of you who know me know I can't turn down money, and when the tennis center I work at during nights asked me to start teaching some more classes I jumped on the chance. The extra cash is nice howver I am physically, and mentally exhausted and nursing a cold :( I thought i'd do a quick update for you all, it's going to be a mix of stuff that has been happening lately.

For starters, don't look now but the "Baby Boilers" are in first place in the Big Ten Conference!! They won again tonight bringing their record to 18-5(9-1). We finally cracked the AP poll this week as well at #24 and celebrated that by defeating Penn State tonight. This is amazing, mostly because it's a year early. We primarily lean on 4 freshmen, and 2 sophomores, and it hasn't been uncommon to see 4 frosh and 1 soph during crunch time. I think barring a major collapse we should be safely in the NCAA tournament especially seeing as how we have Northwestern twice, at Michigan, and Minnesota at home still play. Those won't be gimmes, but they won't be has hard as some games either. This past Saturday we defeated Illinois when our Frosh E'Twaun "Smooge" Moore when off for 24 points, he scored 20 of those from the 11:53 mark on in the second half. It was our third straight road win, and we have now won 7 straight and 11 out of our last 12! The biggest though was the win over #11(now #8) Wisconsin 60-56. I was at that game, and nearly lost my voice. I have to tell you it brought back so many memories Mackey Arena was ROCKING and the Paint Crew was outstanding, Mackey is returning to be a nightmare for opposing teams to play that's for sure. Boiler Basketball is exciting again baby, and I love it!

Ironically enough our women are also in first in the Big Ten right now, and this usually wouldn't be surprising except what they have been thru. First we graduated an All American in Katie Gearlds, and our 3rd leading scorer and leading rebounder in Erin Lawless, then this summer our projected All American Lindsey Wysdom-Hilton tears her ACL, follow that up with our best three point shooter Jodi Howell having to have surgery on her shoulder and miss the entire season and that is 4 starters we are having to replace. The only returning starter is 5 ft 3 point guard who never needed to score last season. We are playing women who were brought in more as role players, but some of them sure are stepping up that is for sure. We sure did struggle early playing the nation's 2nd toughest non conference schedule, but believe it or not that has helped them in the big ten. We still have a shot at the big dance, but will have to win some more games. Have I mentioned it's great being a Boiler right now?!

Crazy weather. Indiana is known for crazy weather but this has just been insane. About a week ago at 8pm there were tornado warnings, 9 pm we had snow. In the span of 1 hr it turned from a 60 degree January day to snow and sleet. Today it was 50's and now we have all sorts of storm warnings, and tonight they are expecting one inch of snow. Today and yesterday we had some of the worst fog I have ever seen, we were at the tennis center last night and couldn't see our cars in the parking lot out the door. This is just nuts. I can't wait til spring!

Who is watching American Idol? Still love it, but could do with less of the early round auditions that is for sure. I am ready for Hollywood week, and when we finally get to vote. Not sure I have a favorite yet, it seems to be the year of the blonde girls though. The guy who sang "Go down Moses" was absolutely hysterical, I was literally laughing my ass off.

Alright there is your update. I hope my lack of comments on your blog won't stop some of you from wanting to participate in my next contest the NCAA bracket challenge! I will be calling on some of you. :)

Have a great hump day
