Like taking candy from a baby!

The Boilers clobbered IU today to improve to 21-6 and 10-4 in the big ten, with a big road game Thursday at Michigan. Today's game was odd, we won 81-67 even though we missed 16 free throws, looked at times like we were sleep walking, and our in your face defense wasn't up to its normal standards. However that's OK because we are playing IU and they SUCKASS! This is why I hate living in Indiana, it doesn't matter what we do we are always #2 in the eyes of the media we are 21-6, IU is 6-20 and the whole coverage from the Indy news stations was on how hard IU played. Gimme a break, when we were 9-21 a few seasons ago we played of course you play hard what else can you do?? I found myself while watching this game at Mackey not liking Tom Crean, IU's coach, he's annoying for one thing, but he from afar can almost be mistaken for an oompa loompa with his orange tan! Anyway, back to the game it was pretty much over in the first minute when E'twaun "Smooge" Moore hit back to back triples in route to 25 points and we never trailed. IU fouled and called timeouts late, and that got the best chant of the night from the Paint Crew of "Lets go home" The big news of this game was will he or won't he? Gold and Black Illustrated, and the Lafayette Journal and Courier BOTH reported that our superstar Robbie Hummel was out for the year with his back problems, so they both looked really stupid when he entered the game to a huge ovation at the 14 min mark, tonight on Lafayette Live the dude from GBI kept trying to make excuses for why they posted that story BAH. Hummel did take a nasty shot in the game, a perfectly legal screen, took him down and thankfully not his back but a head injury. What people in the stands didn't like was Tom Pritchard celebrating hurting Robbie, not cool! So, anyway we enter the stretch run chasing Michigan State we are 10-4 in big ten play they are 10-3, the crazy thing is the last game of the year for us is At Michigan State, how neat would it be if that was for the title?? GO BOILERS!

We were suppose to get another blast of winter today, but it never really materialized. They were calling for 3-5 inches of snow, but we really just got a dusting, and some ice. I am really over winter, I was over it from day 1, but now I am just plain sick of it and want it gone. BAH I need to move! Did everyone have a nice Valentines Day? I can't believe Duck didn't get his wife anything, I find that shocking! Speaking of Duck, the worlds greatest blogger, he has started a brand new blog and I think you should check it out. I suck at linking things, I either screw up my whole blog, delete my links, or it just doesn't work, so head over to my links and click on Duck's name.

American Idol update. So the first group went on Tuesday night, which included resident nutjob Tatiana. I first have to say the girls weren't impressed you didn't bring it. I agreed with 2 of the people that got through, the blonde girl with pink stripe, and widow guy both deserved it, not sure if Michael did or not I think his personality got him through. I thought Tatiana held it together for the most part til she realized she didn't make it then it was welcome back nutjob! I wonder if they will bring her back for the wild card show? Do you guys that watch like that they went back to the old format of just getting to see them sing once, or do you like how they did it last year girls and guys singing multiple times? Anyone watch Top Chef? I love that show, I can't even imagine how great that kitchen smells! I am rooting for Carla to win, but I think she's a longshot, her personality is AWESOME! I can't stand Stefan but I am afraid he's going to be the winner. ho hum.

Have a great Sunday!

Winning for me might be better than sex

What a night! So, tonight my beloved Boilers hosted the #5 ranked Michigan State Spartans at Mackey Arena, and MSU promptly left with a Boilermaker Beatdown. I seriously don't remember the atmosphere ever being like it was tonight in Mackey, it was INSANE! The Paint Crew was in rare form, and even the adults were getting into it what a night. It was a huge win for many reasons, 1. it gives us another 20 win season, 2 MSU had a 2 game lead over us in the Big Ten, with the win it's just one, and 3 we finish our season at MSU which could be for the conference title. It was just a fun night all around, Robbie Hummel our star player returned to the starting line up, our defense was insanely good, and it seemed like we couldn't miss in the second half, it all led to a 72-54 win. Now we have to avoid a letdown against those fucking losers from the South, IU. I hate IU, and I am glad they are our next game, there is no way with such a fierce rivalry that we will have a letdown, I seriously hope we beat them down so bad they quit at halftime. POTFH!

So, that was my night how was yours? I am just really happy right now, and I doubt I will be able to sleep, maybe I should have sex to see if it is better than winning or what?

BOILER UP BABY!!!!

"back" on track

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile, I seem to always use this as an excuse but I swear it's true, this is a busy time of the year for me. However, no excuse is a good excuse right? So, I am blogging tonight, and will try to blog more here in the future.

What a great night first off the Boilers, coming off two tough losses on the road in the big ten. First off no shame in losing to either Ohio State or Illinois, but I have to believe if we had Robbie Hummel it would be different. Our super sophomore is still out nursing his back, the good news he's getting the rest that was prescribed, the bad news going into tonight were 0-3 when we didn't have him play a minute. I just wanna say I hate Ohio State, and I came away from that game wanting to kick Thad Matta in the teeth. It was frustrating we had every chance to win at the end of regulation, and they didn't make a foul call. That's a tough position, but I am one of those people that believes if a foul is a foul you call it regardless of the clock. Anyway, we got clobbered down the stretch to the Fighting Illini, and that was definitely a game we needed Robbie we looked awful, so tonight against Penn State was a HUGE game. Penn State came to Mackey needing a win to stay in the NCAA tournament hunt, so it was a HUGE game for them as well, and early on it was tight, that's when Bobby Buckets entered the picture. Seldom used walk on turn scholarship player Bobby Riddell from West Lafayette, Indiana got some mins for the ailing Hummel who still didn't play, and made good use of them going for a career high of 13 points, and help turned a close game at half to a blow out win! I love Buckets what a great story, and it was great to see him knock down shot after shot, and hopefully this will be the shot in the arm we need. My guess is Hummel won't play Saturday at Iowa either I am thinking they are keeping out until we meet up with Michigan State but we'll see. I can't believe Selection Sunday will be here in almost month WOOHOO!! ESPN does what they call bracketology where this guy Joe Lunardi, projects the field of 65, his latest projection has Purdue a 5 Seed and playing in Boise. If that is the case, I hope Mr. and Mrs. Shife, and Quincy are ready for me to move in for a weekend!

It was also a good night for television, as they revealed the top 36 on American Idol. They did it a little different in that when they brought two in together instead of just giving them their fate, they let them sing again that was interesting. Simon made some of his normal comments he told one girl after cutting her "don't worry you wouldn't have won anyway" ha! Seems like a good group, I bet the whole holding room was saying "SHIT!" when the blind guy was put through, American would have to be pretty cold hearted to cut a blind guy right? I like the guy who recently lost his wife, and auditioned with his best friend, I was surprised his friend didn't make it too. Can't stand that Tatiana girl, and I hope America votes her off FAST! It appears they are going back to the old format of dividing them into groups, and so many get through from each group, and everyone knows by now they are doing a wild card show again, exciting times. Top Chef was also on tonight, I was hoping when Stefan's salmon was undercooked that he would be going home, unfortunately it was Leah instead. I am rooting for Carla or Fabio, but it almost appears that the cocky Stefan is a lock to win it.

The weather here has been crazy lately, last week we got some snow and it was cold, and then we went through a nice warm up. Yesterday and today we actually made it to 60 degrees! However, it's hard to enjoy because it's been downpouring almost all day long. The worst though is the wind we were put under a wind advisory, I had never even heard of that before, but I see why it's literally rattling our entire house crazy. Hopefully, spring will be here soon but it's suppose to go back to the 30's this weekend BOO!

Alright that's all I got for ya, but hey it's an update and it wasn't all sports!
Have a great Thursday
