Hi....

Yeah, it's been awhile I know. I have been really busy here lately and just don't have anything to write about, and you guys don't like when I write about sports! I asked the lovely Design Goddess to give me a topic to write about but she didn't help either. So, here is a potpourri of things going on or stuff on my mind, enjoy.

My summer job is kicking my ass! I had some weird reaction in my eye the whole first week, I don't know if it was lack of sleep or allergies, but my right eye one night while teaching tennis started to water, and the next day they were both basically swollen shut. Try teaching tennis that way, and having to dodge tennis balls from 8 yr olds who think it's hilarious when you get hit. The worst part was driving home after teaching. Today started the second session, I have 3 weeks left! I can't wait.

4th of July, had a fun party at my place. We swam even though it was a little cold early, and then a couple of us played tennis which warmed us up. So we came back got in the pool again. Had pizza from Pizza King, and then oh yea the first ever Phats WhiffleBall tournament! My team won 10-9 in the championship game on a controversial play at the plate, it was AWESOME. Then we set off our own fireworks before heading to my backyard to watch the local fireworks which we can see from there. A good time was had by all!

Our local fair started today, I am not a big fan but I will go mostly for the food. Deep Fried Oreos, Deep Fried Reese Cups, Elephant Ears, and seriously the best fudge on the planet. Kristen and I plan on going one night this week. Bekah you going to the fair?? I have relatives coming in this week so I am not sure what night yet we're going to venture out there.

Wimbledon, did any of you watch the mens final? That was seriously the best tennis final I have ever seen. I am glad I stuck with it, I almost stopped watching when Nadal got up 2 sets to love, but my boy Federer fought back time after time and took it to 5. After nearly 5 hours of tennis Nadal finally won the crown ending Federer's bid for a 6th straight title. I don't like Nadal, but I will say this I admire his championship spirit. I would not want to shake his hand after a match though since he picks his butt the whole way through a match, I know I am a germaphobe. Next up is the olympics! Will Federer rebound and take the gold.

I finally found a radio station to listen to in the morning. Even though it's almost been a year I am still upset over Radio Now getting taken over by talk radio, and the best morning show, The Morning Mess leaving for Atlanta. I have started listening to ZPL and Smiley in the morning, that cat is pretty funny and he has a good supporting cast of characters for sure.

Summer television, I have been watching So you think you can dance of course. Kristen and I watch together and both our favorites are Mark and Chelsea, and Katee and Joshua. I am excited for Big Brother, that starts July 13th, Nutz you going to watch?? It's hard to believe but school will be starting up before long YUCK!

One last item, 56 days til Purdue's football opener vs Northern Colorado! I can't wait, and I am excited because then i'll have stuff to write about. We have a challenging but good schedule this year, and should be a fun season. Unfortunately I am only seeing probably an 8 win season for Joe Tiller's last year. The other big Purdue/Big Ten news that came out over the summer was The Big Ten Network and Comcast FINALLY reached a deal. It will launch on expanded basic cable Aug 15th, I can't wait! That pissed me off last year for sure.
